DTF L1800 printer repair No. 3

This already converted Epson L1800 needed a repair. It was completely dead and couldnt even light up the leds. At first we taught it had to do with the power supply but i turned out it was a problem with the motherboard. The head also needed a replacement but the owner requsted not to fill the ciss system with ink because it wont be used right away. Since we replaced the head with a fully functional used one, we needed to fill the dampers without filling the ciss, so we had to improvise a little.

So what did you have to replace on the motherboard? Was it the f1? Are the resistors or both ?

Very informational.. Could you tell me where the other end of the white cable goes that is connected to the power supply?? I have an R2000, A sheet of PET film caught it, got jammed and disconnected it.. I can't see how it goes back in!! So, I can't power on my printer. Any help would be appreciated

Hi! I have an L1800 and the white ink is fading. It starts out very nicely and then the white ink stops. What can I do? I've done manual head cleaning, when I called the techs from Procolored they told me it was the ink I was using but did not give me anything as far as what to do. But they did offer me new ink and print head to purchase from them. Help please?

its not the ink or the head, you just have dense pigment sediment on top of the thorns for white dampers. You just need to remove the white dumpers, put the syringe with silicone tube on the thorn for white channel and make a dry pull. So you are sucking the sediment out of the thorn backwards instead of pushing through. Do that on both channels and you will need to clean the sediment on top of the thorn with paper towel and rubbing alcohol until you clean the holes on the top of the thorn. Usually there are 4 holes, and some head have 8 smaller ones. Then do one head clean and you should be good. In case there is sediment inside the damper you should also wash it out with the syringe.

It did help! Thanks! I was able to print a couple of screens when there was ink all over the screen I was printing! For some reason now there’s ink all over my capping station and I have no idea what to do next. It is just a mess every time I do a head print cleaning.

Hi Bro. Can you provide a trusted shop for l1800 spare parts especially Printheads? I did try to buy from China but 2 of 3 turned out clogged out of the Box. I would really appriciate it. Greetings from Germany
