It would be fascinating to see three or four cars that didn't sell (that weren't over-reserved).

I think you will find that the Mk V was the Crusader version which used a lot of the left over parts from previous versions, but for me me the Cortina was the last good British Ford

Cortina mk5 was advertised by Ford at launch as mk4 series 80 (with supposed better rustproofing).

Looking at the 240Z I think it probably was a UK car all it’s life, right hand drive and old tax disc. But I understand that as you say there are loads of them sold in the US as they were cheap cars at the time. Your right there was of course a mark v Cortina we had one called a Crusader 👍

Also under the hood (Bonnet) looks like a pair of SU Carbs, (I could be wrong, but didn't Datsun originally fit "Nikki " Carbs to their cars. Derek was saying the yanks had these & we had the Capri, i know which one was the better of the two in my opinion, & i wouldn't have been the "Dagenham Dustbins". Again I personally never rated the Capri, the 1600E in my opinion was far superior, Even the Savage with the 3 litre Engine, & of course the twin Cams. but again personal opinion.

Of course the 240Z isn't US because it's a right hand drive. In the USA we put the wheel on the correct side... and it's feet, not meters🤪
