l Kspjaxs she is an ape and she eats constantly because she doesn't have any back teeth so she has to chew with front teeth only therefore it takes her longer to eat and the best food are already taken by her family. Like us they too have a favorite food so that's why she looks like she is always eating. Besides she's still nursing Kintaro until he's at least 3-4 years old.

Genki is a great mom. Kintaro is well fed and taken care of by keepers. Glad they are here and not in the wild. Between poaching and their land being taken, survival in the wild is getting harder. Thanks to the keepers, they are well fed and have plenty of Vet help

Why do the leaves they are eating always look the same? In the wild they would be eating more than dozens of different kinds of plants. I know they can't give them the exact same life as they would in the wild, but different types of leaves doesn't seem like it would be that hard to provide. They could grow them themselves. They don't bother giving them a single bush or tree either.

Thank God for Hina, and other zoo keepers because Kintaro aka knuckles would be so hungry. I mean I’ve never seen not even a wild animal take food from their kid. This is the problem she too over weight. That was the first time I actually seen him pick up something and take a bite out of it. They need to seriously make them work and search for food and different foods. Kintaro aka knuckles was so adorable today, at one point it sounded like he was laughing. Gentaro he’s extremely smart cleaning off his food from the floor. I hope when Genki realized that she can trust Momo because, as Knuckles and Momo went through the door she rushed over then just calmly looked in and didn’t rush too get inside. This zoo needs a upgrade like Shabani’s family has and they need it like yesterday. Honestly they should of been saving for this especially if they knew she was pregnant. Also they can guesstimate when she’s gonna have a kid, I’m sure some behavior gave it off if they didn’t know. The paint on the walls is so dirty, the inside compared to Shabani’s is too small I mean they really deserve the best all animals in captivity do. Little knuckles has a wooden slide, wooden box to play in, there big thick branches sticking out of the ground right by one of the steps to climb up. It’s just so unsanitary for all of them. ❤️🦍

Other gorilla mothers do take food from their offspring, so Genki's behavior isn't out of line but normal for a gorilla. Besides, this enclosure is a new one for their gorillas, opened in 2014, so your hope for upgrade will most likely not materialize. The enclosure compensates its smallness with 3 dimension structure that allow gorillas to move vertically and brachiate across the roof.

I just watched a video with the baby Thandie at 5 months..she was nibbling on carrots and her father took it from her. A few minutes later, her mother took the other piece she had. It looks like it's commonplace for the adults to take food from the babies

There are certain foods he cannot eat, he’s still too young. That was a capsicum he was trying to eat and that’s why she took it away from him. He gets fruit and veggies that he can eat from the keepers and they give him apples and carrots he can forge for on the grounds.

Poor kid would've starved to death by now if it wasn't for the zoo keepers. First she didn't have enough milk, not her fault, but now she constantly takes food from him. She almost never stop eating. She apparently suffers with anxiety, and the way that she insatiably stuffs her face must surely be connected to that. I wonder if they give her anything for her mental health? I know a bit about what gorillas are like with food, and I watch a lot of other families, so I can see the difference between this troop (not just with food) compared to others.
