I gotta ask because I don't know. Are the hats actually a cymbal covered in rubber, or are they just rubber? Seems weird because it doesn't look precise at all, but I can tell at different levels of the pedal, it is producing different tones/vibration.

Its an off the shelf electronic cymbal. A Yamaha RHH135 to be exact. The software only has an open or closed sound so you wont get all the realistic variations in-between of a real cymbal. Best I can do without pissing off the neighbours
