Thanks for sharing this. For a vintage, it has a nicely-designed matching network. Each T-joint has two (100ohm to 50ohm) transformers (fat sections of trace lines) to phase 2 pairs of squares (each square is a 100ohm patch and a pair is basically a 50ohm 8db antenna). 4-squares array is 11db, 16-squares array is 17db, 32-squares array is 20db. A well- thought out layout that packs 20db of gain! :)

Hi, how can this be anarray, does that not need digital control to manage? I thought you make your ant to the set measurment of your freq but if you go over it changes the freq? in this case, by adding more elements how does the freq not change? So confused. Thanks in advance if you do reply and any idea why he does not upload anymore?

Hello sar I always watch and love your videos and learnd a lot about antenna.. but the problem is that I cannot replicate those due to poor material and Hardwear availability.. this antenna is perfect for me I have coper clad boards and steel plates which i can etch to build this perfectly.. i would love it if you could provide all the necessary dimensions for this antenna🙏

Is this an array? How is this duel band, looks just 5.8? If this was 5.8 how would it look diffrent? Could this be made larger, how big could it go. By adding more elements, is there a greater poer draw? How can a set mesurment for 5.8 allow for additional elements that are connected and not be parasitic like on a yagi? Wouldnt adding additional elements change the freq? What about the reflector, is that not sup to be a certain measurment, if so how can this be so big. Please do assist as really interested to hear back :) Thanks

Recently I was looking at some PCIe cards from laptops. I see cards with 1, 2 or 3 antenna connectors. Most common seems 2 connectors, sometimes marked as GAIN and AUX. I noticed that the 2 antenna's in such case do differ in design. Is that an 2.4 and an 5G antenna? How to tell the difference? So why is called GAIN and AUX? On an HP desktop with such an 2-connector wificard built in, there was only 1 antenna connected. This antenna was attached with is metal part to the metal front of the computercasing. I'm wondering if that helps or disturbs the antenna characteristics?

Could you explain why the traces going to each element seem to keep changing their width?
@RaffaelloKWOS3 жыл бұрын
they change thickness because they are adaptations to the impedance. For example, you go from 100 ohms, the thinnest, to 50 ohms the widest part. Or it's 75 ohms. Now I don't see the size

Hi Simon, I posted a video tutorial on how to use different thickness of trace line to phase multiple patches to make a high gain antenna, you should find the answer you are looking for. Just search “Terence Microstrip Array” and the video would show up.
