ironically, Kirito is one of the more martially sound dual wielders in anime that isn't an escrimador. his typical engaging guard is rather Dardi-influenced, for example, and he often has one sword point forward whilst the other is in a wrath guard.

Frederico. This is my style: I do a martial art that is similar to kendo. We do a martial art that is similar to kendo. We practice the weapons of sword, staff and dual wielding. The sword is kendo size. Dual wielding can involve two dagger sized swords or one dagger one regular sized sword. I have been training myself to use two regular sized swords for dual wielding despite that is forbidden in sporting matches. The problem I see with 2 swords is getting them caught and the weight displacement. Imagine a kendo swords that requires two hands but must be done one handed. My style: Rest one sword on the front leg. The second across my shoulders. The stance involves the front leg facing forwards but the behind is bent and the foot faces the outside, creating what is known as the L- Stance. The sword at the front is the blocker and pushes back the opponent while the second is the follow through.

I am a FMA guy who spars with HEMA guys a lot and i find Dual wielding (a Common thing in FMA) is effective against longer weapons. From this video it seems we train a lot more to be able to use both hands independently from day one and to attack from odd angels.
@junichiroyamashita4 жыл бұрын
It reminds me of Musashi Niten Ichi Ryu. The point was not of using two swords,but of being able to use a full size sword in both. In a context such as japan ,where samurai commonly carried two swords,it would have been more useful than in a european setting.

Thanks! Good warming up flow exercise for coordination and stepping. Feels very close to what I'm learning with Cali sticks. Look into it, their weapons type shaped an interesting style focused on a fast but complete offense/defence form. One facing threat and a chambered strike ready, like in your exercises. Keep making videos on this project please, next times with a partner to illustrate the 2 weapon dynamics and possible interactions?? Also, have a look again at the gam. Eof throne fight in season 6 with The Sword of Dawn knight and his fight with two side swords/arming swords. And let us know how much proper technique is used there. yes, but this is also how you die. One swing from either of these swords will make them tangle each other. In addition, at this momentum you strike one sword everytime you hit. That's stupid since, one handing does the same result but more movement for thrust, parry and overall footwork.

Tip to any type of fighting. When you use any fighting theme also ways move your entire body exercise and more power power = speed speed = power and enduce fear ig like some martial arts the jump a little bit using the foot when you can move your hips = more reach more power always hold stay relaxed and focused always look at tye most common weapon the enemy uses so you can predict what he or her is gonna do

@DCHart072 жыл бұрын
If you are talking about wiggle sword fighting, none at all. If you are looking for a more semi realistic fighting, look up Ironlights. It forces you attack in a confortable Motion, making you put your blade behind your back before you use it again. It also makes you go into slow motion negating all the fast movements. You will be in 30% speed when they charge at you. The community is fairly nice and small, but not hindering its capability of exercise, and it’s fun.

The Marozzo material for due spadi is a bit less straightforward, seemingly, since it's only in an abbattimento. Also, interestingly, unlike Di Grassi, Marozzo's "standard" guard for due spadi seems to be coda lunga (right hand sword) and porta di ferro (left hand sword), meaning both weapons are on the right side, near one another. This is also his default position for sword and dagger. I'm a Bolognese practicitioner, but I've never gotten into the due spadi, because, well, I have enough problems with one ;) But I'm wondering if there is any overlap between Marozzo's due spadi and his sword and dagger...
@FedericoMalagutti4 жыл бұрын
Benjamin Johnson yes I’ve gone through all the due spade part, I will check the sword and dagger too to see which action is viable with two swords ;-)

Why should I do this thrust technique when I can just use one sword and lean I to the thrust for more reach, while I make my body a smaller target. Or I could use one sword for defense and one for offense. But than a shield or parry dagger would be smarter

nice video,, however, the way you do the cut seems a bit... risky.
@FedericoMalagutti4 жыл бұрын
rahadian panji oki every cut done with two swords while moving the other sword at the same time is risky. Personally speaking I never touched myself in this way. And this is because the swords move in different directions at the same time. I don’t feel endangered by this to be honest ^^
@arpioisme4 жыл бұрын
I wonder if that's the reason why marozzo and manciolino kinda move their swords in the same angle (but on somewhat different planes), i mean, they often do it like "do a falso and roverso (sgualimbro) with the left blade and do a mandritto with the right one"
@FedericoMalagutti4 жыл бұрын
rahadian panji oki yes, but in the defense from the roverso we also see the movement I do. Parry pommel high and tip low with the left sword while cutting a roverso sgualembro with the right sword. Of course he also move with a footwork which I wasn’t able to put into the flow drill because of the flow. But anyway we will see the action you just named, and a variation, in the future video on this subject. And yes, I think this is a key logic to not cut your own limbs down! LoL!
@arpioisme4 жыл бұрын
I will watch it :D i always have a hunch that the real ability of dui spade is the fact that if the enemy only carry one sword, he will not be able to defend himself properly, unless he/she back up. I have done several fun sparring in this format, and whenever i deliver same angle strike but different target as i mentioned above, it's pretty amusing to see the opponent basically has to chose between their head or their leg, like in chess game. They can only choose one to defend.
