Rob, I’m curious man. Your pronation and your backpressure are clearly elite, and you have the massive hand and wrist strength to go along with it. So why do you set up so forward every match, especially agaisnt short arm guys like Sasho and Nugo. There’s no world in which either of those guys should be able to toproll you, and it’s only possible because by the time you even engage half of your backpressure your already at the pad. There’s just no chance you’re properly utilizing your power nearly to your capacity (which seems to be what you’re saying). Imagine if you set up for a posting style toproll with your shoulder back and ready to engage all your backpressure and rise like Lamparelli, there’s no reason you couldn’t have that good of a toproll with your tools.

@@LegendofNeldathat’s not what my comment is saying. It has nothing to do with elbow positioning and every thing to do with body position. Top rollers set up in a way so that they’re body is ready to rock back which is how you immediately engage all your back pressure. Think about it this way, are you stronger doing bicep curls facing downward or facing upwards?

I am roughly your age Rob so I know the feeling. There are hungry young lions out there. You either give it everything or you just shoot more videos about enjoying a beautiful scenery and food in Dubai:) - the reason there are nice buildings in Dubai is because they can afford best engineers and architects from the west - the reason why they let you in in that restaurant without proper attire is likely your American passport. It carries a lot of weight around a world, and you were expected to spend some serious dollars too. Things would have been different if you were say Albanian or Chilean, likely they would have run you out of town:)

I'll start by saying that I love seeing you at these big events, huge fan. Losing isn't that big of a deal, we watched Matt go through a h-llish year a couple back, it's about how you lose. Matt, even during a loss, is mentally in it, is fired up and people still enjoy watching whatever takes place, that's why guys like himself and Wagner still got invites to whether it's this or EVW, they're entertaining as h-ll regardless of the result. Yourself, at this event didn't look like you were there, physically yes but not mentally, as others have mentioned, you were lethargic, like there was no fire under your ass whatsoever. I don't say this to be a d-ck, like I said, I want to see you at these events, I know what you're capable of. The matches I saw at WAL, you were a beast, I wanna see that beast again, cheers.

Glad you had a nice trip - sounds like you loved the razzle-dazzle. Kind of pissed how Nugo had his way with you, though. I think Devon taught him a little humility in after pulls but was hoping you'd be a little more pissed and in full on fight mode. Looked like he was gripping your thumb weird and got the jump on you in the setup. I know you're a legend and I'm nobody, but I'm pretty f'n let down. I still haven't digested your loss to Sasho so it will take me some time to get over this. I am still living in the past WAL days. Maybe I should get a life or try facing these guys myself. I know, they'd kill me. Wish I could summon your new found optimism and positivity. Guess Devon is right. Never bet against a Georgian.

Well ya, people want to see him achieve better results. You think Rob knows everything and can’t benefit from an outside perspective / advice? He simply wasn’t prepared for the match. He wasn’t pumped up the way he used to be back in the day when he was winning. Even the day before in his interview with Ray, he was already accepting the loss saying things like “I don’t think he can sweep me 4-0, after 2-3 rounds he will be tired enough I’ll be able to get a stop and wear him down.....”. Rob is clearly not approaching things in an optimal way. And how do you know what people in the comments have achieved themselves? I played semi-pro hockey, got drafted in the NHL draft but never made it. Point is, many other people have experience and insights and achievements that can offer something valuable I didn’t achieve the top level of my sport the way Rob did his....but his sport has thousands of people participating, mine has millions participating and the competition is much more steep. But the principles of success can be very similar, so people that have achieved levels of success surely have insights that can be useful

It looked to me like rob resided to loosing from the get go. I didn't see any effort, no grimace on his face. I dont get it, if I was a great armwrestler not at the top, I'd be giving it all I got. It just seemed he gave in

Vitaly lost to Levan. Unfortunately you’re not Vitaly and this felt like another midlife realization video. As a consumer of this sport, this was another let down.
