Thanks Toine! Nice you took the trouble to show us how it's done and how it works (although I have to watch it a few times more to completely understand why and how). Good you asked Andy to mention which Ducatis it concerned (dry clutches with the clutch slave on the left). Only thing not completely clear to me is how the narrow convex steel ring that Biggelaar supply and which placed between the hub and the clutch plates stays centered. Again thanks and for those who don't Van den Biggelaar (more than 3 generations) are a famous Ducati tuner since 1966 (that's 1 year before the first Desmo production Ducati was introduced!!!). Oh and before that they were already 13 year in the business of motorcycle maintenance, so they have a rock solid reputation in the Ducati world. Thanks for taking your time to show us how to make your modification work! Frank

Cracking Video as always Andy! I do have a question about the clutch on these bikes and please feel free to tell me that I am a flaming idiot! How come the last plate before the pressure plate goes on is a steel plate on these Ducatis? Is this unique to dry clutches? I have never had the pleasure of working on a Ducati or a dry clutch so I am curious! Of all the clutches that I have changed, the last plate has always been a friction plate. Many Thanks
@toinevandenbiggelaar60834 жыл бұрын
its very simple, the pressure plate is connected to the aluminium hub, if you would finish with a friction plate everytime you would start driving away say from a traffic light or so the pressure plate is not turning and the friction plate is, is that way the pressure plate would wear out like crazy, with the steel plate this doesn't happen as both are on the same part of the clutch so they stop together or they spin together, but most wet clutches are operated by a fork or a lever inside the clutch cover Ducati clutches are pushed from the opposite side of the engine by a pushrod that goes trough the gearbox axle .
@KevsShed4 жыл бұрын
