Leaking fork seals on my 2021 V4S Multistrada at 14K miles were covered by my 3rd party extended warranty. Original warranty had expired a few months before. This one warranty claim recovered 2/3 of the extended warranty premium. Money well spent.

My fork seals went out while I was on a road trip, nearest Ducati dealer was about 500 miles away in Las Vegas. I was able to get the bike there and they covered it under my ever red extended warranty. They said factory warranty would’ve covered it, but it was expired so my ever red extended warranty took care of it, zero deductible. Thankfully the shop had the seals in stock and had me on my way 2 days later

How many miles were on the bike at the time?
@ScorchedBreathАй бұрын
@@4KMotoring Right around 15,000 miles. If your still under any kind of warranty, it should have been covered

$1000 at 21k miles for a bad fork seal, that is half the cost of a valve check... Exactly why I got rid of this thing, quickshifter issues, parts falling off the bike(exhaust pipe cover), service centers charging insane prices then treating customers like peasants, squishy front brake lever even after they replaced the entire master cylinder, the list goes on. Waiting for the BMW 1300 GS with ASA, no more bad quickshifters and Ducati for me. Wish you luck with Ducati actually fixing something without a lawsuit.

Get the Motorcycle Top Scan Obd and 6 pin adaptor. I got it yesterday after seeing a review on KZbin. I was able to reset my inspection Service light, saving £70/$90 just for the dealer to look it over. My oil service is due in 3900 miles, I’ll do that myself and reset the date.

Seems interesting ! can you link the oroducts please? Is it easy to do it?

The fork oil was done long before the seals failed. Enjoy the refreshed suspension.

I had a 2021 Multi V4S that started leaking fork oil after 2k miles. Ducati initially claimed that it was due to rider negligence but the dealer came through and argued that no bike, especially one intended to be used in rough trails, should not be leaking with such low mileage. I agree that in other circumstances such as 20K+ miles is likely more justified as true wear and tear.

Always enjoy your content! I had a third party warranty (Corner Stone) on my 2015 Multi and they did cover the fork seals under warranty. Also my 2022 Multi was just in the shop and they did check the software, not sure if it needed it but I haven’t noticed any difference with the quick shifter. I have alway noticed it doesn’t like to be loaded…. Just pop it up, don’t ride your boot under it with pressure… have a good weekend!

My Rally was updated last week, and I noticed a difference in the quick shifter on some shifts. At first I thought I didn't do a positive shift, but soon realized something changed from a software update. Thinking about turning it off until another update fixes this.

I just had mine done as well at $27k miles. They were leaking way before that and I tried the warranty route. Ducati denied the dealers warranty request but they told me to appeal which I did. I actually think I could have gotten them to do it but I got busy with other stuff and failed to follow through with the claim and ultimately just paid the dealer to replace them. I also got the recent update done at the same time and my experience is opposite. Quickshifter seems even better although not by much but mine used to never pop on upshifts and now it does. I like the popping.

Quick shifter update improved smoothness on my V4S. But I mix quick shifting with manual shifting which makes for notchy manual shifting. So I have turned off quick shifter in Touring mode where I typically ride and that dramatically improved manual shifting. Makes the quick shifter kinda useless for me.

2022 multi v4s. Mine got fully covered under third party warranty (Riders Advantage 1700$ for 4 years with zero deductible). Replaced both fork seals with zero cost. Quoted me 1200$ for both seals replacement. Called warranty company. They took care of it. One fork seal got damaged at 12000 miles. But the Ducati service center replaced both and warranty covered it. Initially warranty company didn’t want to cover for the undamaged second one but service center people talked with the warranty company and settled.

I’d love to know how you get to talk to Ducati? I’ve called several times. Listen to the prompts, (hit this button will call you back.) I’ve sent them emails I think in the last two years Ducati has changed it used to be they would always answer the phone, it used to be there always reply to emails. Now I feel ignored.. I’m with you I would think fork seals would be wear and tear but hell I’d love extra savings on a warranty. I have a 24 multi-Strada and I haven’t had any issues with a quick shipper .

yes that is warranty work.... fork seals are not a wear item, ask yourself is it on. the maintenance chart? I've never seen fork seals on a maintenance schedule
