Duchess of Cambridge marks Remembrance and Royal British Legion centenary

KATE Middleton beamed as she met up with a 98-year-old Second World War veteran in a touching tribute ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
The Duchess of Cambridge spoke with Colonel David Blum OBE, 98, at the Royal Hospital Chelsea earlier this month in a moving video remembering Britain's fallen soldiers.

Duchess of Cambridge; is so good with interviews; nothing about self; but brings out the goodness in others; love the pictures the WW2 Veteran shared; and how the young scout was able to share with us; She brought out the value of just taking the time to listen to our Oldest Veterans and learning from them. It was a great Honor to be able to listen to the 98 year old Veteran.

I am an American and I was born a few years after WWII ended. I studied 19th and 20th century British history up to the post-world war II period quite extensively. As a result I developed a great love and appreciation for the British people and their wartime leadership. The suffering and sacrifice endured by the people of this great nation is an example to all of us. God bless.

I get that there are cameras, lighting and camera men/women, but you have to give it 10 out of 10 for poignance, respect and caring. Kate's dark clothing, her gentle tone, sharing conversation with the Veteran and the young Cub Scout. This joyous presentation out-strips that, which was represented from across the pond.

It was so lovely to see all three of these exceptional people together. Catherine was a wonderful interviewer, and kept the focus on the Colonel and the young Scout. They were each interesting and were interested in what each other had to say. It heightened my respect for the previous generation and seeing young people like Emily gives me hope for the future. A wonderful, wonderful segment.

Damn, she's blossomed into her future role. I remember her first solo speech and she's certainly league's away from that shy Duchess of Cambridge. I'm American, but engaged to a lovely British man, and I welled up at different places. And, there's no way that I could ever envision Camilla, Dutchess of Cornwall, doing something similar; she doesn't want the title that Catherine already has (yes, one title Camilla doesn't want) and that's one of a role model. Are you sure you can't skip over King Charles? I know you can't and people have warmed up to Camilla, but if the Monarchy is to survive, it's going to need all the young blood it can get, since Harry's stupid departure, Charles may have to rethink Beatrice's and Eugenie's roles and move them up to senior royal status. William and Catherine can't do it all. Edward and Sofie should be used more as well as Lady Louise, she's growing into a lovely young woman. NOW, if the press will stop referring to her as Kate MIDDLETON, that's driven me nuts for 10 years! With Princess Diana, they'd occasionally refer to her as "HRH Princess of Wales, former Lady Diana Spencer", (prior to the divorce) but not often.

Shes so desperate to be Meghan but Kate is terrible at interviews. She's boring and her questions are flat and lifeless. She has no tempo and that's why she needed such easy targets, anyone else wouldn't be able to handle the pointless questions. You can really hear her fake accent cracking under strain. You can see her visible nerves as she asks pointless questions. All she has going for her is visual appeal for conservatives. She could be any other man

She's just doing her role exceptionally well. Megan could never do an interview like this as she would turn all the focus onto herself. The sooner her and Harry are stripped of their royal titles the better for our country. None of us want to be lectured to by a pair of self-obsessed narcissists like those two.
