You should definitely do the standing rigging before the yards. That's the way it was done in reality; the yards would go up and downmany times while the standing rigging just stood there.

Yes, that’s what I’ve figured out and I’ll share that plan in the next video. I already ran the lines for the mizzen mast futtocks. Now I can install the Mizen stays without the main mast futtocks and other lines getting in the way. So I’ll be moving forward with the standing rigging in that order.

If you try doing them all at once you’ll get too crowded before you can finish also finish the sails together so they will match ( see Olha Batchvarov wooden ship builder museum quality reproductions)

@@TheMidwestModelShop do they ship worldwide? I’m in america so I’m curious, also would it be a good beginner/second ship to build if I have never planked before?

I’m in America too. They ship all over or you can buy it from a US distributor. All the info is on their site. It’s a good beginner ship for planking because you only “have” to get the first few rows below the whale correct. After that, everything that’s in the white area will get painted so it will be hidden if you end up just covering everything with wood filler. But you do have some difficult bends around the stern. I recommend you review the videos in this series first.

I’m guessing the Sphinx would be a little more involved with the lower gun deck. You should really look at the instructions for each model. They are on the website for each kit. It will help you figure out what you’re getting into.
