Put together a video of how I do my inlays on my calls. This can be done with the material of your choice. If you have any questions about this process just let me know. Thanks for watching. Music: Bensound.com

Thanks for the video on inlays, I wasn't sleeving and kept busting the ends off when I was turning. Nice to see a fellow Wisconsinite

Thank you! I am hooked. You make this look easier than it is I am sure but I am dying to try to turn my own call. Do you sell a plan to do so with specs etc.? Not interested in the Plastic kits you can buy Would much prefer to do it right from scratch. Any suggestions?

Great Video. When gluing the barrell it was still a 5/8" I.D. with 3/4" O.D. tenon?
@DrakeDropperCalls7 жыл бұрын
+TxQuackStacker Matt Thanks. Yes the barrel blank is drilled out at 5/8" and then the tenon is turned down to 3/4".

How did you know that you needed to sand the tone board? When you blew on it it sounded great to me

There are times like in this video I can tell that it will stick or be flat in time when going for a hail or comeback call. After doing many many calls your ear gets trained what to listen for and what you need to do to fix those problems.

Hi can you tell me what part did you get to drill on your lathe? How do you hold the chuck in the lathe? Or how do you know what size it is to order the chuck for the lathe? Thank you
@DrakeDropperCalls5 жыл бұрын
It’s just a drill chuck or a Jacobs chuck the size will be determined by your lathe MT1 or MT2

Drake Dropper Calls I was going to ask the same thing. It came out such a great color and that light semi gloss shine I was hoping you were going to buff it cause I knew it would just add that extra little pop. How long did you leave it submerged in the oil? Love your videos bro. I’m a big waterfowl hunter and am calling waterfowl, Turkey, predators etc all year long. I’ve also always been artistic and able to make things with my hands. But you and your videos convinced me to buy an old wood lathe, some wood scraps, gouges and I just finished my first call that actually turned out perfect start to finish and sounds great too. Lord knows I went through what felt like the Amazon rainforest worth of wood before getting here lol. It was perfect timing though because I’m giving it to my son for his 1st birthday in a few weeks so he can start tagging along with his daddy and his uncles and help give our lungs a rest while unknowingly sparking that passion we have for the outdoors in him and keeping our sport alive and strong through the next generation. He is always getting into my calls now and could blow a hail and come back call or feeding chuckle with better pitch and cadence then most adults I know. Plus he was doing this before he could walk or spoke his first word. It’s really cool to see and I wanted to say thanks for sharing these videos. You definitely opened my eyes to a whole new arena of the hunting world. And my son is getting a pretty nice walnut double reed that he will be able to teach his boys on and think of me every time he hears it long after I’m called back home to that endless hunting season in the sky. God bless my friend. Keep cuttin em

whats the barrel length
@DrakeDropperCalls5 жыл бұрын
Barrel length is something you develop when you develop your own sound. Play around with some different lengths and see where your sound is.

where do u get your inserts from? and what jig was that
@DrakeDropperCalls7 жыл бұрын
+Emilio Carbajal I make all my own inserts and that is a custom jig I had made up.
@carbscustoms7 жыл бұрын
would u sale any or do a video on how u make them. thanks for get back to me
@DrakeDropperCalls7 жыл бұрын
+Emilio Carbajal I don't sell just inserts. A callmakers insert is uniquely their own and takes a long time to get it where you want it to be. For that reason I won't be doing an in depth video of how I make my inserts. Sorry
