Another beautiful video. You capture the essence of the Sierra's so well with the water flow shots, tight flower closures and slow pans of the horizon and mt peaks. With minimal face time. Very nice.

Been 25 years since I've been up there. As Arnold would say, I'll be back. This will hold me over for now, Thanks.

Great video! I literally had my map out yesterday afternoon planning this hike. I've only ever gone as far as Skelton Lake. This coming summer I plan to hike to Duck Pass and then down and left to Pika Lake to spend the night.

If you have not done it you should do the Mammoth Crest loop. Starts at Lake George trail head, up to and along Mammoth Crest, down through deer lakes basin, out the other side, down to Duck Lake, and out the way you are coming in. Stunning, and no crowds except at entry and exit. I did it as a day hike, but deer lakes basin would be great camping.

johnrsims43 thanks for the suggestion - I almost did this last summer but ran out of time/weekends before the snow came. I believe it’s about a 12 to 15 mile loop? Planning to do it this summer!!

@@Sheety33 , yes I "guess" your estimate is close. My GPS showed 12.5, but did not include distance from Lake Mary Trail head to Lake George Trail head. I hitched a ride and saved ~ 2 miles. Route can be viewed at: my.viewranger.com/route/details/NzQzNTU=?ref=37.605275264325556|-119.01722326199103|15 Enjoy!

Definite inspiration. I noticed you came in through the Emerald Lake trail, rather than the Duck Lake trail. Any particular reason for that or just to switch things up a bit since you've been there before? Another beautiful video. I'm planning to do this as a multi-day hike on to Purple and Ram Lakes.

At Pika for sure! Not allowed to camp at Duck.
