We need a video on Si showing how he makes his tea
@s.leonorgarcia94144 жыл бұрын
Sweat tea is one of the easies things my family been making it for years and we dont serve piss water and suger that tea got to be a little dark because combined with suger gives it that sweet treat taste every southerner loves. I usuly do 15 to 20 tea bags for a big gallon or so. And suger ! Whatever sweatness ya like. But remeber the weaker the tea you gonna loose that flavor

Kansas style sausage = Andouille sausage. If you're cooking this on a stove, you can add all the liquid and rice, bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, cover, and let cook for 20 minutes. Add in scallions or green onions (same thing) stir, turn off hear and cover, and let steam for 30 minutes. When they say louisiana or arkansas rice, they mean medium grain white rice.
@NykuG4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I just tried the recipe today and the tip with the rice would have come in handy. I can't do this level of spiciness though, I went with smoked brats instead. Also I kinda followed the video but that is way too much onion. I'm going to keep tweaking it until I get it to my satisfaction, but this is definitely staying in my repertoire.
@Cavethug4 жыл бұрын
Nyku the right ratio is always 2 parts onion, one part bell peppers, one part celery. It’s referred to as the “trinity” in southern cooking, just as it’s two parts onion, one part carrot, and one part celery for “mirepoix” in most French / continental cuisine. BUT if you think it’s too much onion for you, then by all means, modify it. Recipes are suggestions, not a blueprint you must absolutely adhere to. I made this the other day, had to increase a couple things as I made 4 gallons. For instance you can add shrimp to it, or crab. In both cases, add at the very end, and stir it in, it’ll cook with the remaining heat in the food. Or you could add tomatoes to it if you’d prefer a more Creole version instead of a Cajun version (Creole food uses more tomatoes). As for the sausage being too hot, cut the pieces bigger, and avoid them yourself. If you ever make gumbo, the andouille sausage plays a very large part in the flavor profile of the food. Especially if you’re cooking for others. The rule of thumb is that you’re not cooking for your pallet but the pallet of everyone else.
