Wooooahh...you just added an entire new sound to our venue in Asbury Park. 4 great subs on the mono channel and I've only put the kick and SOME bass in the subs as well as somtimes tracks or synths but to duck these elements just cured a major MAJOR sound riddle I've been working on in this room for years. My solution invariably has been to just reach up and adjust less bass when the overtones start fighting with each other for shape. This is so useful I can't thank you enough for the tip.

*to clarify, adjust less bass being sent to the subs as opposed to the level itself in the mix lol

I could also see disengaging the gate during any bass solos strictly to move it forward in the shape during those times, much like bringing the toms up on a bus during the drum solos. This is really inspiring man. 👊😎

Oh man, that makes me so happy to hear! Glad I could help a fellow engineer. Keep up the good work

Awesome! I'm doing this on an XR18 for the mic to duck a stereo channel. An important note is that both linked channels must sidechain to the ducking trigger. Thank you SO much!

Man that is clever. I like watching what you do on that board. You are good at illistrating and showing examples. These are great and very helpful.

That's pretty cool. It would be cool if you could catch this from FOH and show the difference.

How do you get those multi-track recordings to play directly on the board? I have a lot of tracks on ProTools, but I can't figure out how to get them on the USB drive to play on the board.
@Mdjagg Жыл бұрын
Use a USB connection and use it as an interface.

He's using the X-Live card. It allows you to record and playback 32 channels from the X32 / M32. It's saving them as .wav multichannel files on SD Cards.

I love your Videos about Midas M32 Live ! What output aux are you using for monitoring Vocals, for send the Mix for Vocalist for listening in in ears, do you send in Mono or Stereo ? Regards from Portugal
@GodsOfAudio Жыл бұрын
I send my In Ear mixes out of the 1/4" Aux outputs or xlr outputs. Depends on the situation. They're often mono but stereo is always nice for the performers if you have enough outputs to set them up in stereo.
