I grew up with a dude who was my bestfriend for those crucial years of when I was discovering who I was. We literally hung out every day and did everything together. He introduced me to tenacious d and metal music in general. We would sing this song literally all the time to see who had the better vocals. His family would always take me on their family trips as well. My identity and some of my best childhood memories happened because of him. Unfortunately, we lost contact once we were around 16 years old. I miss you bro. But I'm glad you were there as my bestfriend for a short while.

I met this girl, we hadn't even been together for that long, but she was amazing and it felt like something special. When we broke up, I went on this really long walk, through fields, up huge hills, until I got to the top of this mountain and looked over the world. The second I reached the peak, this song began to boom, I cried my eyes out, but realized how big this world is, and how much there is to do and so many good people to meet, that it made me see how this breakup was just another bump in the road of life, and I've never looked back since. When grandma’s house down the street has been dimmed and locked ever since she passed away 10 months prior. Before you know it you’ve tasted your soup coocked with chicken stock like she used to make it and the memories come back. And you just so happen to have been alone all the time for a couple weeks. You’ve either heard this song before or you’ve never heard it at all.

Me and my best friend from elementary school loved Tenacious D among many other things we did together… we watched the movie every year together. We loved classic rock and Jack black and Gass. We used to Jam this playlist on fly fishing trips and drink whiskey in the morning. We had a falling out; and this song literally makes me cry thinking about the special times we had together. I totally miss you dude.

I miss my best friend that was with me from 2nd grade all the way to 8th grade, we drifted apart afterwards and went into separate high schools (he went into the best high school in town, I went into the 2nd best high school). I tried my best to study really hard in 9th grade and moved to his high school, thought we would start hanging out again but he had changed a lot, already made new friends, became really popular and I decided that his life was better without me dragging him down all the time. I'm sorry Lucian, if you ever see this, I totally miss you dude and I hope you're happy wherever you might be.

Other than the masterpiece that this song is, the acoustic solo in the middle is beautiful. I just love it
