I am in have some low level depression and ADHD and as a male adult they system has been appalling. So my bet is the guy or family has tried to get him help but they are never really interested until it’s actually too late and then that person who has been perhaps suffering for many years finally hits a breaking point and he then gets the blame rather than the system. The world is build to control or destroy us mentally, we are not designed for the type of everyday stress we are faced. It would be hard for those to really understand mental illness unless you experienced it yourself and how let down you will be. I hope the man gets the help he needs

You wouldn't know without a formal diagnosis. The commenter is right to point out that a broken economy and health system produces dire social outcomes. It is NOT for individuals in the general public to determine such (nor place themselves at risk out of ignorance), but to be ALWAYS aware of such matters, in fact be distrustful of EVERYONE and anyone! The past few years have taken a significant toll on the mental health of the previously 'healthy', let alone those previously 'unwell'! I often refer to a quote from the Stephen King tv movie 'Golden Years', in the early 90's, "A perfect Paranoia, is a perfect awareness!" The most psychopathic of individuals, just like the best conmen, can appear perfectly normal, and trustworthy, right up to the moment they are NOT! Here in Canada mental health resources are overwhelmed and over the decades it's degraded now it's needed more than ever.
