First day ever of school, every kid in pre 3 early learners is bawling their eyes out "mommy!! Noooo, I scared!!! ITS THE APOCALYPSE" our little chaos goblin didnt even glance back ..... I swear, "K, BYE FELICIA" vibe was so strong .... Picking her up, all these sweet little babies running towards momma.... Of course, mine was like "NO, I DONT WANNA GO HOME! I WANNA STAY AT SCHOOL" Hey, does it hurt a bit? Well, yeah. But .... she isn't afraid to be out there, doing new things. As a parent, it's good to know she isn't afraid. Do I want her to want me? DUH. But I take comfort in the fact that she doesn't NEED me to be there 24/7. She's independent, a strong personality, and not quite 4. I am not gonna live forever, and I would rather cherish the time we have than make her so scared of the world she can't explore new friends and new situations. In a safe, protected environment, of course.

Clinger! We're homeschoolers, but I do have to say a sad goodbye every Monday when she goes to her forest school class. I was tempted to follow the group at a distance on the first day just to be sure she (I) was okay, but refrained. I'll just be the "early to pick-up" parent to watch her class under the pretence of "being in the area".
@lindagarner7232 жыл бұрын
PTA Mom... I used to volunteer a lot at one school. We had to change schools due to circumstances, but stayed in the area. I actually had the volunteer coordinator call me a month into the school year because I hadn't been doing my usual volunteer work which included helping organize one of their biggest fund raisers. They had no idea my kids weren't going to the school any longer.

Your 5 parents drop off was the funniest video you’ve made. My husband and I laughed through the whole thing.
@boomfiziks2 жыл бұрын
Here’s a couple of possible ideas. 1. Different parents at parent-teacher conferences. 2. Different parents helping to chaperone a class on a field trip. Include the parent, who is also a teacher but is there because their child is in the class, is always getting the “rougher”/unruly kids. This happens to me all the time. I’m on a field trip with several other parents. All of the other parents get groups with their child and their friends. My child is put into another group (usually with the teacher) and I don’t get to spend time with my child and his friends and my day is trying to contain a group of kids from creating an international incident.
@angielamb99662 жыл бұрын
Same. I teach a behavior class. So I always get the kids that are going to cause the most trouble because "I can handle them". NOT A GOOD TIME.

Sent the original video to my wife and a couple of my friends. I am the irritated dad always in a meeting on his AirPods, my wife is the pto mom and extra loving mom, our neighbors are a mix between the always late, cycling parent and ironically the dad got laid off the day it came out and my wife was hitting him up to help with pto volunteering (and I hadn’t told her yet he got laid off) it played out almost exactly like this once she found out too.

Definitely missing the ‘wants/needs to drop their kids off early parent’ just to get rid of them faster. Should include one of your littles standing blankly on the corner of the school grounds as you speed off, lol. Also-the parent who avoids the ‘line’ completely and busts into another corner/area near but not right in front of the school. Those were MY parents, growing up. Lastly-what about the ‘hot mess’ parent who couldn’t even get himself/herself dressed or even brush their hair to take their kid.
