@rawanaly97738 жыл бұрын
It honestly is. The show as a whole is rather depressing and grey toned. It's like a cloud that hangs, and the end is that gust of wind that blows it away, and you can finally take a breath of fresh air after all the sadness this series puts you through. I cry every time, it just proves how well this series was put together. The absolutely phenomenal soundtrack is an added bonus, it really ties it together.

Honestly, when I saw this show and this song came in the end, that moment when she and John found each other at the train station... the way how he looked at her, loving and caring. She knew it right away that she loves him and he loves her. When she kissed his hand, ah that was the moment. There he leaned in and caressed her beautifully as if she was divine. Honestly, I started crying at this scene, love is beautiful.
@VincentVanGoghAway8 жыл бұрын
That was beautifully expressed. I felt the same way too at the ending! It was like, 'Finally! At least they kissed'
@marykatezehr10747 жыл бұрын
Yes! I totally agree with that!! I watched this all in one day because I was curious what it would be like seeing Richard in a romance... and it is literally my favorite love story!! I started to cry when John smiled as he asked Margaret, "Coming home with me?" and the music got louder when they got on the train together. North and South is soooo romantic!!!!!

I remember the first time I watched the ending. This music stuck out to me and tugged so hard on my heartstrings. It filled me with warmth knowing they had each other (even if you never read the book, we all know they're gonna end up together but we just wanna see how). The music fit the scene so perfectly! It's peaceful, hopeful and has a sweet, almost melancholy tone to it because we know what the characters went through to get where they did. I actually think it was entirely possible that they wouldn't end up together because of timing, external factors etc and they could've completely missed each other and would never have known what they might have had. Anyway, I'm totally rambling. Point is I love love love this piece and I always picture the closing scene in my head when I listen to it. :')

There is no song like this one for me. It truly takes me to another place, another time, out of my physical existence and into the realm of pure, human emotion. It’s slow, almost torturously so, like the romance between Margaret and Thornton; but I love for its slowness, its gentleness and tenderness. I don’t know. I can’t describe it, the way I feel when the music swells, it’s beyond words.

yes! and not only that, they found each other like cross-star lovers! I mean, what are the odds that the wagon she was sitting in ended up right next to his! This piece of music has all the elements of life. Can be used at a birth, at a time to reflect, to calm a tense situation, to dream, to motivate, inspire, as a wedding march and funeral. It is the most unreal piece of work I've ever heard. Most of all it inspires all the different types of love known to man. Thank you Martin Phipps.

For anyone who still loves this piece, Phipps has reused it in “The Aftermath” soundtrack as the last song called “New Start.” It’s almost exactly the same (if it’s any different I can’t tell and I’ve listened to this N&S copier version a million times). So if you want a high-quality not ripped from the movie version (not saying there’s anything wrong with this one, it just is the best that was available) you can get that song now!

It had been a pretty horrible two weeks, but I was walking down the street in the city with my best friend. I was laughing and I was flying and I was happy. And there it was, this music plying my soul open, and my soul saying 'look up!' and this feeling like it was my happiness that brought him forth. I had summoned a day of smiles, and so fate gave me a breath of him as reward. He stood across the street, just staring with an open expression, and I had never felt so beautiful as when I read it from the pages of his being. He vanished past me and I turned around, and he was gone as steadily as a change in a traffic light and he left a sore sight on the image of a street and a bar, like the smoke after a galaxy of fireworks at night. I wanted to stop and catch him. But it wasn't time yet. It just wasn't.
