Amazing how all the locations still look almost the same 53 years later.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Good stuff. I remember the movie Duel, but it has been a long time since I have seen it. Might have to check it out again. Good Lord, I couldn't tell you how many times I traveled Boquet Canyon Road on a KZ1000 motorcycle back in 1982. I was living in Mojave at the time, fresh out of high school, and met a girl who lived in Newhall. She was absolutely gorgeous and I went to visit her just about every weekend. it was a nice little ride. However, most guys riding through the canyon back then were the biker types riding Harley-Davidson. I was way out of my element on a Kawasaki, but hey- I had a girl to go see. Sadly, the gal ended up kicking me to the curb. I am sure she wound up meeting someone who had a little more on the ball than I did at 18. But she left me with a lot of good memories. From the looks of your video, not much has changed since 1971 or 1982. It's still a groovy place to travel if someone is wanting to get away from it all.

Hi. In 1971, it wasn't called Santa Clarita. It was several small areas each with their own names..Saugus, Valencia, Canyon Country.
@jokeroneninesevenzeroАй бұрын
Yes. When I film in that area, I will give the exact city, but because I was all over the area I was just generalizing.

The school bus 🚌 driver and his kids thought that guy in the Valiant was crazy. He got his car hung up on the bus’s bumper near a tunnel. The bus driver had to back the Valiant out with the guy on the hood. Then the big tank truck came and got the bus going again.

It always amazed me that David pulled into the gas station on the wrong side as the cars gas tank was furthest away from the pump
@jokeroneninesevenzeroАй бұрын
Most likely for filming, it was done on purpose. But in reality, I worked at a gas station in the late 80s, and customers would do that all the time. Instead of turning around, they would just stretch the hose.

anyway you can do a repo man location with the beginning with the desert scene when the cop opens the trunk?

Most of the locations for this movie are difficult to find. KZbin channel 80's Life, Kurt has the locations. I think he's the only one. Check out his video. But thanks for the request.

No, there is no truck at the bottom of the canyon. At least I don't think there is. I couldn't see over the cliff. That area is private property.

I did leave out a few locations. I was focused on the locations with the buildings and landmarks. I would have liked to do them all, but not enough time or money for gas. This is just my hobby. I don't get paid to do this, just something I enjoy. Thanks for watching.

alot of scenes were done with models--the scene going off the cliff was done all with little models and fake hills maybe 6ft high
@jokeroneninesevenzeroАй бұрын
Actually, according to an interview with Steven Spielberg about the movie, that is the actual truck that goes over the cliff. You can find the interview on KZbin.
