It's not just that they're "comfortable" with it. Although it seems inefficient, they have to go slow to try not to hurt the patient. They are not feeling the foot like you feel yours when you're doing your own foot.

Yea it's not rocket science to remove a callous. The wider pedicure knife is much more efficient. It must take 3x the amount of time with that tiny scalpel. It's always the American podiatrists videos too. I usually see the wide pedicure shaver being used more efficiently in Asian countries in a nail salon...like cmon you're a doctor and you don't have the common sense to use the better tool for such a simple procedure? 😂 My feet became like this after being homeless for almost a year and literally walking nonstop 24/7 on drugs. I ended up literally using scissors to cut off the whole heel section. It took over a year of using a pummus stone and that foot cheese grator thing after every shower to get rid of all the dead skin after all of the main dead skin was shaved off.
