Join along as I confirm my thoughts of the 7520 having some transmission issues again. We solve one issue to only find another. Will this be ready for tillage work? Thanks for watching Merchandise store- duffyag.com/

On one end of the reverse gear will be small teeth that have a taper on the end of them. These teeth lock into your shifting collar and thus lock it in gear. Trying to shift with it rotating has destroyed them. These teeth, along with the corresponding teeth in the collar, must be square to the world in order to hold. Check them close. Your grinding is coming from it jumping out of gear and trying to engage at the same time. Gotta split it. Best of luck.

Duffy the frustration of working on stuff is real. But sometimes it is best to walk away for a day if can so you can look at it again the next day with fresh eyes. I got faith you will get it running right.

We have all been there with engine and transmissions, it might not be as bad as you think. That piece that broke off could be wedged somewhere, great work. stay focused.

I was so sorry for you my heart went out to you .when you found more issues with your tractor. The guy you had driving it for you and caused the damage must be a animal with machinery. I wouldn't let him near my tractor ever again..Best of luck fixing it for you.

When you go to change the synchronizer for the reverse gear check for a bent shifter fork, I have been down that road, it’s not fun having it crap out again in less than 8 hrs. Love the vids, I enjoy learning more about all you do

@robertquast96842 жыл бұрын
Make sure that the part you changed is pushed over tight to the detent pin. Might need to loosen the shift arm up and move it. We have a 4010 that wouldn’t stay in reverse till we adjusted it

As someone said, take off the top again and have it in reverse and look so it goes fully in to reverse. Sounded like it was not fully in reverse. Maybe that broken thingy to the thing is laying and stoping it or something. Hope you will figure it out and that it is a easy fix. Take a break and get back at it again. Good luck!
@markreetz10012 жыл бұрын
Just wondering if you checked the linkage in that it isn't going all the way into Reverse or going too far into reverse and grinding. Not a mechanic, but had to do a lot of wrenching in my youth. Keep on keeping on!

That sucks bro my two cents is you should've never had another driver in that seat after it was fixed the time. It is what is at this point You'll get it done good luck.

He needs to have someone that can run something other than a truck. Won’t let anyone use the Chopper and now this tractor. How can you be productive
@ronanwalsh70242 жыл бұрын
That's the problem with running old gear, you usually end up giving your newer more expensive stuff to operators because there's less chance of them breaking something while you nurse the old stuff along yourself with all the niggles.
@joewiniewicz76032 жыл бұрын
Oh man! Grinding is never good. Sorry Chris. You deserve a break your way for a change.

@johnnyholland87652 жыл бұрын
In your own words it was "operator error". That being said I would limit the operators who run it to ones who understand you don't speed shift that stuff. I don't tolerate abuse of my equipment. It costs time money and a butt load of trouble. We ran 8630 machines that had quad range transmissions. They shifted by cables and linkages that could get locked up if you shifted them too fast.
@ronanwalsh70242 жыл бұрын
I agree, we have a few old machines that we limit to a select few that understand them.... a good operator will hear the start of a problem even before it becomes an issue.
@stevewbeards2 жыл бұрын
Take that top cover back off and put it in reverse without it running and see if it's going into reverse all the way in the transmission. Might have to adjust the linkage or that gear is too worn or a broken gear from that piece breaking off in there.

@sambass99592 жыл бұрын
Pull your cover and look at these pieces, when they try to jump out of gear like that, thats what breaks your fork. Forks are around 600 from deere, if you can get one.

I'm wondering if the linkage needs to be adjusted. If they were pulling on it hard it could of moved. It broke me heart to hear that grinding. you have the right attitude to get it done and back together
@jerrycann63742 жыл бұрын
You're setting yourself up for problems, the transmission needed to be taken apart to check to see if the broken part(s) hasn't damaged anything and to remove all the broken pieces. Plus that chewed up gear needs to be replace and the gear it meshes with if damaged.

Big mistake not cleaning before hand ! Changing oil doesn’t guarantee you’ll get it all. Wire brush, brake cleaner and air would have done wonders. If the trans worked before, you must have done something in the clutch job

Right about now I'd be cussin out who ever was operating it and slam shifted the ole girl and broke that peice you swapped out as well as stripped all the teeth on that reverse gear...that looks like it would have taken some serious abuse to cause all of that damage meaning they didnt do it just one time...they did it several times and likely heard the gears grinding while ramming it into reverse multipule times to do that damage before the ole girl said FU get off me and quit. Who ever did it heard that grinding and just didnt care enough to shut it down and say something is wrong with it.
