I'm thinking I was at this very concert as I saw the Duke in London in 1964. It made a huge impact on me, probably the best concert I've ever been to.

Rockin' in Rhythm is, hands down, one of the most badass ensemble jazz compositions, EVER! Cat Anderson in fine form once again...

Great rendition of the classic tune, Rockin' In Rhythm. Mel Torme does this song justice as well! I hope that someone posts Mel's version to KZbin!

Lawrence Brown doing Quentin Jackson's part is also played faboulus.

Well the solo wasn't _Quentin's_ part, per se. It was originally Joe "Tricky Sam" Nanton's part, but after he died the part still needed to be played, so Duke gave it to whomever was the best plunger player in the section. From ~1950 to 1959, the part was Butter's. From 1960-1970, the part was Brown's.
