i don’t think you people understand. there is nothing this lady can do. my dog has these constantly and if i try to hold him or anything he freaks out. it’s best to just let it happen and let him get through it, and taking a video can even help awareness for other dog owners, just like me. my family wasn’t even sure if what he was having were sezuires but with this video it kinda confirms it. stop being rude and mad at this lady she did nothing wrong

Here is some tips to handle your dogs seazures so first make sure there is nothing around them so they can’t kick and hurt themselves off it and try to lightly toutch the animal calming them down softly talking and so on if it goes on for about 2 mins grab a cold wet towel and hold it on the dogs under-stomach the animal will start to warm up if I does that do this to and if ir goes for 4 or 5 mins or more call the emergency vet hope this helps

Everyone please google or search what to do. Keep in Mind your dog IS NOT in pain when they go through this. Do not place your hand infront of the dog's mouth.. Place a cold rag or ice wrapper in cloth by the groin or spine. STAY CALM.. Talk softly.. You have to just let them ride it out..

same my 10 year old chihuahua gets them ((hes had them all his life before i got him, i got him when he was 8 when my buddy couldnt keep him at his apartment)) hes gotten better now and rarely gets any bad ones but he is a overall healthy but lazy and crabby middle aged man lol. ((i had two dogs before i got him in 2021 that had passed, one was my dads baby ((a chihuahua/greyhound mix named zoey that was a rescue, she was sweet but got cancer and passed from a heart murmer at age 12, and the other was the sweetest dumbest dog ever but i loved her a ton, my old jack russel/beagle mix. mimi was 17 when she passed from her old age ((alzhiemers and her liver was rough)) but my fat 10 year old chihuahuas doing strong just not happy since hes on a diet now

Finally! We've been searching for so long about what's been happening to our dog. She does something similar to this, and our only thought was a seizure, but we also thought no because they fall on the ground and shake helplessly, while our dog loses control over her limbs and get pupils dialate and she breaks heavily, very similar to this dog. Thank you for posting this. My 15 year old hospice dog had a tumor removed about a year a half ago. Within six months, more popped up in a few spots, and we decided not to operate anymore. Six to nine months after that, she was diagnosed with diabetes. It took us months to get her insulin dose dialed in, and she went blind about three months after diagnosis. Ten minutes ago, she started acting super weird, and it got kind of scary for us. I had never seen a dog seizure before, so I looked it up on KZbin. Your video looks just like what was going on here and helped me confirm what was happening.

My little doggo is 14 and has had these for years. The vet said it isn't epilepsy because they're not Gran maul(sp?) seizures. She said it's just a neurological glitch. Keys are to make sure doggo doesn't overheat when these happen because their internal temp can skyrocket. And just hold them and try to soothe them with soft speaking and use their name a lot.

Stop touching or making noise when they are having a seizure. It’s the worst feeling to be fighting a health episode AND THEN to have someone grabbing on you & making noise (that just distracts you from staying calm & fighting the panic). It just overwhelms and scares them more to be loud and intrusive. Have you ever had that feeling of being nauseous, hot, and where you have to spend your energy fighting that feeling of needing to vomit? It’s incredibly similar when you are having other kinds of health episodes (including seizures).

Doctors ask owners to record the seizure because based on inspection of the seizure, they identify how they need to be treated. My 6yr old golden retriever has idiopathic epilepsy and im always around him so when he has a seizure i administer twice the regular maintenance dose of cbd directly on his gums and it stops the seizure in 5-10 seconds. I hope fellow pet parents suffering and trying to help their babies read this, please god.

He is about 45kgs and needs 20mg CBD on his gums to stop an ongoing seizure. But however it is best to consult with your vet. Also most importantly stay strong and calm for your baby. If you're stressed and anxious and they feel it. It might even kill them during a seizure.

Our small dog is having this issue since we've had him. He's about 3y/o. We thought it was a back issue but now thinking it's in his diet. Check out "rosemary oil" apparently can cause issue and is in lots of products like treats. We fed him raw food for a few weeks and seemed he had only a few per month. Then 2 days ago my neighbor gave us a bag of blue buffalo kibble & he had 2 "seizures" in less than 48hrs. The last ingredient is "oil of rosemary". We're still trying to figure out what is triggering it.

Shes not doing anything wrong. You cant stop a seizure and a seizing dog can be dangerous until they come around. Trying to force the dog down can cause it to injure itself as well. Best thing is to record it to show the vet and to have a record of seizure progression or regressions from treatment. The vet being able to see is way better than relying on memory of what happened and your opinion on if its gotten better or worse. I had 2 labs with epilepsy and yeah the best thing we could do was sit and record our observations, time the duration of seizures and note the quantity and spacing of seizures. Id have much prefered a video i could have shown them. Charting worked for us to find a treatment plan that got the seizures from cluster grand mals to 3-4 yearly petite mal.

Same. Sadly my dog kept having seizures and enter status epilepticus, with a seizure lasting over 2 hours. Her eyes bulged and her neck was completely contorted backwards and to the left. Heartbreaking to watch, and couldnt believe it happened to my baby girl. Please keep an eye on your dog, the vet said the very same to me, that it was just old age and it was to be expected and that she was fine, but less than 24 hours later she had a catastrophic seizure that ruined her, and our lives. Cuddle your baby boy and let him know how loved he is, although I did it, I wish I would’ve just took the day off work and spent his last meaningful hours with him. I’ll forever live with that regret.

We have the same breed. Austrailian Cattle Dog. She has seizures occasionally (once a year). It’s probably the dog HeartWorm medication. It has Ivermectin which Hearding breeds are sensitive to. Our girl was accidentally double dosed one time and soon after she started having seizures. Also before that approximately six months prior she was bitten in the nose by a small rattle snake. The anti venom could also be a compounding factor.

Mine had one too today. This would be his 5th in 1.5 years. It's not a lot but they last a while and he thrashes after he does this for awhile so I have to hold him down do he doesn't hurt himself. He is on generic keppra. I decided today to go to a specialist as my primary vet doesn't really know what to do beyond the medication. What we are doing can be the best option but I would like a specialists opinion and my pup deserves it even if I have to get a second job for a little while. He will still have someone at home watching him

If they fall and start shaking uncontrollably, again, make sure there is nothing next to them and comfort them in a calm voice like the lady in the video If these 2 movements happen for more than 2-3 minutes, GET THEM TO A VET IMMEDIATELY, but people usually take them to the vet after 4 or 5 minutes of seizure

Hey I'm definitely not an expert but something worth looking into: this is gross but this happened to my dog Izzy a lot. She was part poodle and poodles have this issue more than most breeds but from my understanding other breeds do have this problem. something with anal glands that need to be, um, "expressed." 😐 happened every few months to a year. Ask a vet.

I’m a known animal rights activist and Yes that’s the best to stand there. While having a seizure many dogs don’t recognize their owner and can bite. Also she really can’t do more than record it and inform others and show her vet. Make sure the dog can’t hurt him or herself by things standing around and a cold wet cloth at her chest can maybe help. Change food for high quality or home cooked foods and check meds (some anti worm tablets don’t help dogs with seizures for example). After a seizure dogs are usually very hungry but don’t feed them that much as they ask..
