Andrew, I finally got a 1210 for my rack. I really love it. Surprisingly to me, it seems to go into the red on the input sensitivity very easily when fed with a line level signal. I’m loading my amp down with a Suhr Reactive Load, sending the line out to my mixer (Redseven MSLM), which has the 1210 in a series loop, then out to power amp/cabinets. All my other fx seem to handle the signal easily and can be adjusted to optimal levels, but the 1210 goes right up into the red even with the input sensitivity on 0 and using balanced cables, ins/outs, etc. Any thoughts on this?

@@Echoplexi. congrats on getting the 1210. It’s definitely one of the best unit ever made by TC. Regarding the red on input sensitivity. That seems odd for line instrument level. Though you mentioned you did series MSLM loop, it shouldn’t behave that way. I’ll recommend try to do cleaning all the jacks and pots with Deoxit and see how it goes. If it still behaves the same thing then it might have an issue with the input driver/op-amp but it needs to be further diagnose. I hope this will give you some ideas to debug your issues

Would have replaced those 30 year old power filter caps since you were already there. They are due to fail soon and hopefully they don't take the transformer with them.

I was going to do that but it seems the ESR still looks fine. Mike’s 1210 seems to have low hours rather than mine. Transformer for TC is solid. Mostly the tantalum caps on the delay cards were the culprit

Sorry to hear that. The first thing I’ll check would be your capacitors in the power supply section. Make sure also you have the correct main voltage switch for the unit. If you’re in EU then do 220V and if you’re in US then do 110V. Sometimes that could be the source of the issue. TC 1210 is solid and can need some TLC
