My 'nice' Alaskan Hard Gear pants look great, unless any oil gets on them. I wear them as business casual. The phone pockets either have it on your left thigh, or uncomfortably half way under your right thigh when sitting. I had a few drops from a taco get on my thigh. A month later someone spilled new cooking oil, it splattered on my shin. I pretreated them with laundry detergent and a brush, let them sit a day and washed with warm water, still stained, they did not go into the dryer. I tried pretreatment, then washed, still stained. I tried Dawn with a brush, then washed. I tried pretreating with Lestoil, let rest over a day, washed, still stained. Then I went to the local store, wearing my Duluth jeans, coat, and boots that were bought there. They even pulled the history and saw my wife dropped $600 at one purchase. The manager on duty told me there was nothing they could do. I questioned why Duluth's Hard Gear work pants cannot come in contact with any oil, or their ruined. He told me the Hard Gear is hiking clothes, not work clothes. That's odd, the website pictures tell a very different story. When you charge $100 for imported from Asia (VERY cheap labor) pants, I would have expected better customer service.

I agree, if they offer you a quality product they should comply or return the money.

I bought my first pair of Duluth pants. I tried the relaxed foremen flex. They are very comfortable but I feel they are too big and baggy. I bought my normal size but these are bigger so I washed them in warm water and dried them hoping they would shrink and they did maybe a little bit still too loose for what I want. So I’m thinking maybe next time I may try the straight but if I get flex I may downsize 1 size and see how they fit.

Get the slim fit flex pants

@@MrGrabakaI’m usually not a fan of slim because they go a little too slim. Idk how the Daluth would be though. They might be a little wider. I need to find width specs somewhere.

Duluth sells the fits in there pant; Slim, Standard, and Relaxed. Most Duluth items are cut big. I prefer the relax fit for the extra room and flex for work pants. Standard fit for my hanging out pants.

They did shrink up a little and fit a lot better now but I still may try the straight next time.

Great video. I’m a laborer and I wear Carhartt. My work wear takes a beating. I’m interested in Alaskan hard gear but can they take the beating?

I'm my experience absolutely! Even more so than the Duluth flex series with spandex. I have rotated through these 5 pairs for the last year everyday and saved my jeans for the weekend. Still perfect.

@@REDTAILRAY ok thanks. I’m digging ditches on my knees a lot basically in the sh*t. I rotate between 4 Carhartt work pants a week and usually can last couple years.

As a former Carhartt wearer myself. The Duluth pants are fantastic. Use the discount code for 20-30% off and you got a good deal. Jackets I recommend Berne. Again just as good or better than Carhartt but a much better price.

@@tjk5992 thanks. Was looking at the Berne website and they have tall sizes! I’m 6’3” and have been wearing Large Tall cause I though only workwear that has tall sizes.
