Okay multiple things here. Number 1: Shane is so undercover conservative and all of these videos of “conspiracy theories” are just boomer content. Number 2: the reason the government is freaking out about TikTok is because they do have so many people on the platform and Shane is right actually that there are not laws about what companies can do with data and that’s the second part of the reason why the government is freaking out. TikTok the platform and it’s users grew so much faster than any previous social media that the government knows it is profiting of data and they don’t have any systems in place to protect the people (or profit off the data themselves).

Also before TikToks insane growth Facebook was the fastest for a large period, so was KZbin for ages. The Apple one has next to no merit if you think about it for more than like 2 seconds. First, you CAN see the infrared light with your eyes! If you use Face ID at night, the light is clearly there. Second, I'm willing to bet that the whole "it scans your face every 5 seconds" thing isn't necessarily some nefarious plot, but more to do with their Attention feature. If you're looking at the screen, it won't dim. That's literally explained in the settings, it's not hidden information.
