@@sevan8350 On a basic level, there's not much you need to learn to be financially responsible. The best thing my parents taught me is: If you earn money, don't spend it - save it. That is how a poor person becomes a wealthy person. The next thing to learn is where to put the money so it grows over time, like into the market as a balanced ETF or the S&P 500. If you can figure out those two things, especially when you're young, you will be thanking yourself 20 years down the road. If you have trouble with the saving part, then learn to budget your income. Aim to save at least half of what you earn. This may require you to make some sacrifices.

Unlike Dave Ramsey, this show is purely entertainment, not informational. The "guests" are entertaining because the "work" (if you call what she does, work) that they do, is questionable at best. So it is entertaining for ordinary people to watch this and see how these people have financially ruined their lives in a Schadenfreude sense. If these were normal people doing legitimate work with genuinely good purpose who were in financial ruin, they wouldn't subject themselves to airing their dirty financial laundry in this format to be so embarrassed. A person with a legitimate career that doesn't need clicks to justify their existence, feels shame for their self induced financial circumstances. A stripper is shameless.

One of my a favorite episodes. I might be biased because she's a fellow veteran, but I think overall she has a good head on her shoulders and is a go-getter type of person. She just needs a little more education in finances. She should definitely have a talk with a VSO at VFW she is a part of to make sure she's being rated by the VA for everything she is eligible for. Also, make sure her conditions aren't under-rated. On 2 separate occasions the VA has under-rated me on conditions. It wasn't until I challenged them and pointed out the rating schedule in their own regs that I got bumped up to the appropriate and accurate rating. After talking to multiple veterans, it is a common occurrence. The VA very often low balls veterans. I encourage all veterans to take look at their rated conditions and the VA rating schedule for those conditions.

Ya, Caleb seemed pissed off cuz it was so smart. He kept trying to poke holes in it but he just kept sounding stupid so he had to stop. Then all he could do was disparagingly tell her she lived in a trailer. This move makes me think she is probably on the right track with her Airbnb as well.
@chantalwiebe5349 ай бұрын
@@wherezenith2856 That wasn't it at all. She had to put out the $20,000 on an asset that not only will depreciate (mobile homes are not the same as houses, you don't own the land that it sits on), and she's responsible for all of its upkeep. What if tomorrow the furnace in her mobile home went? That would be something she would be responsible for. What if the roof had to be redone? Another thing she would have to put money out for. When she's renting, that would be something that would be taken care of for her. Sure her rent and utilities only come up to $650 a month or so, but if she was able to get an apartment in the $1300 dollar range, it would take almost 3 years living there to break even on that $20,000 spending no additional money on the trailer at all - including her lot fees not going up. Which, as someone that owns a house, is impossible. Especially when you're buying it for $20,000.
@BradDiBenedetto9 ай бұрын
@@chantalwiebe534if she paid 20k for it, the original owner likely ate the majority of the depreciation. If it’s a true mobile home, they are often 100k plus new. She’ll never get 20 for it, but it probably won’t go down too fast. It’s like buying a 6 year old car.
@chantalwiebe5349 ай бұрын

I also studied sociology. As an overweight short guy, stripping wasn't an option, so I had to go back to school to become an accountant to make money. And, weirdly, the "accountant" moniker is often used by sex workers to hide their true profession. Anyway, I'm glad there's another sociology grad out there making bank, even if they had to go down a road less traveled. Edit: jic people aren’t catching onto the sarcastic point of my original comment. The guest talked about how the only way you can make money as a Soc graduate is by stripping. And that’s largely true, most people can’t make money as a sociologist. They usually end up doing something else. So, the guest responded by becoming a euphemistic “accountant”. It sucks seeing a sister in arms struggling like this. If you read the comments I’m begging you, go talk to a veteran service officer (VSO) in your area, someone at the VFW should be able to point you in the right direction. You’re leaving benefits you earned on the table. You are getting destroyed by that mortgage when you could’ve gotten a VA home loan. You’re disabled, the VA has rehabilitation programs outside of the GI bill that will help you. Speaking of your GI Bill, USE IT FOR UNDERGRAD! Your plan to “save it for grad school” clearly isn’t working. Go get your bachelors, the housing payment will more than cover your mortgage…you can even look at it like your second job. Vegas’ BAH is $1.8k a month! If you get your ducks in a row, you can use the aforementioned rehabilitation programs for your graduate degree!

Yes, Caleb is very intelligent and adequately educated. However, on occasion, he pulls financial ”advice” directly out of his ass. His advice for her to "rent a cheaper apartment” in Las Vegas was a completely stupid and displays lack of knowledge regarding the Los Vegas rental market. If Caleb were to rent one of those "cheaper" apartments in Vegas for himself, within 24 hours, he would be screaming for his momma and paying "protection money" to local gang members. I would watch or listen to a show catered around financial content and their banter/conversation. One knowledgeable host, one who's learning and bridging the gap for people who dont quite understand. And, from the sounds of it - she's more handy than him. Could be a fun mix. She was an interesting guest, but in a good way. Another great audit!

that sounds like a great show to watch!! im curious about the other guests you mentioned, i dont watch his videos in order so do you mean the two guests before her?
@JWEATHERSBY9 ай бұрын
@lana-cloud hey, sorry - just saw this. Yes, the guests were in order. One was his former intern on the show. They had a nice big brother/little sister vibe going & I'd need to dig back through the episodes for the other one. I'll post the link for the old intern one.

This was an amazing episode, it’s usually frustrating when people come on and act like they’re in full control and kind of neglecting Caleb. I really felt like she’s trying her best to dig herself out and I’m hoping the best for her!

Gotta give her some props for coming on and putting her situation on display. First, I'm sure people will judge her super hard for the line of work she's in; but more than that, she's actually TRYING to build a future with the money she makes as opposed to burning through it on mindless stuff. Compared to most guests, she seems to have a better head on her shoulders...

Did you not watch the whole episode? She spends thousands of dollars a month on traveling & fast food & random apple purchases.

Those are really high club fees Christa. Summer is lucrative in Canada. I’m 41 and still a top earning. You might hate the work because of where you live. I experienced a “nice” club in Vegas in 2003. I could not handle that environment full time or long term. Twerk twerk twerk twerk twerk💃This episode helped me a lot. Thanks Caleb💚

Initial title was pretty harsh lol gave it a second chance when it popped up again and it was a great episode. No annoying excuses like some of the previous guests. Straight to the point. Youre videos have been helpful in handling my finances, especially with 50 30 20 and consistent payday investments into index funds, appreciate it Caleb!

She and Caleb have a great rapport going. She’s likable and witty! And she didn’t mind Caleb’s silly jokes.

She does seems sweet and all her debt seems pretty run of the mill, normal American. She gives herself a hard time 💗

TBH she’s not a bad looking woman at all. And she’s already showing the goods off for a living. She might as well try to use this for clout building and then fire up the OF. Assuming she’s cool with working a less public facing job as she gets older.

I live in Vegas. I know a lot of strippers (yet somehow have never been to a strip club). Most get into it from being servers, bartenders, and cocktail waitresses. It legitimately is a promotion for most. And they are actually very nice people. This guest is very much how most of them are at the middle to higher end clubs.

She is NOT DUMB ! She's a hard worker, she's making a lot and she is working on a possible Air BnB with her own two hands - sweat equity ! She also sought out your help (even though she know you'd yell at her) She's not perfect but she is righting the ship - you go girl !😁

Just to be fair, she was right about the rent situation… even after Caleb found places for 1,200/month… if she sells the mobile home for 10k and lost 3k in interest (just for ease) that’s 13k in the mobile home, and the rent of 380/month. If she lived there for just 2 years, her average rent was 921/month for those 2 years, and would be 741/month if she stayed for 3 years.
