I used to rescue and rehab reactive animals, it’s funny because I actually used similar things to desensitize dogs and cats before moving to more realistic and then train them with real birds. Jajajaja!

Back here in Indonesia, these birds were literally sold by street peddlers for cheap as novelty decoration, like those Japanese cat figurine. They are however put inside cages instead of perched like Polly, and actually capable of near realistic movement, bobbing their head and tail.

I do have to say that when I worked at a nursing home, one resident had that "bird" and dearly loves it. Her real bird died years before so I think it just comforts her. Other than that, I wouldn't have one myself.

My mom actually bought this for my sister for Christmas (I think that's when she got it I could be wrong). No clue why, dumbest thing I've ever seen and I messed with it trying to set it up for them and I could barely get it to actually stay on it's stand. Now I think it just stays in it's box somewhere collecting dust. It's just stupid.

I remember seeing these at CVS....I think they chirped in the store right? I think I rememebr them doing that at least....I think this thing would be funny to show to another bird...I used to have all kinds of bird toys that my lovebird liked me messing around with with him. Many made bird sounds (I had this collection of songbird plushes that made their actual calls). My lovebird was actually named Polly, so it would have been funny to see what he thought of this thing. He lived 18 years (extremely elderly for a lovebird), but is no longer with us. I still miss him terribly and its been 9 years since he died...

I did see on Amazon these sleeping dog/cat plushies that simulate breathing and I saw in the reviews that a lot of people would buy them for old senior terminally ill people or senior people would buy them and with positive results saying that they found them comforting as an alternative to a real pet and I know there are some people who also have dolls who they also find strangely comforting. So even though it might seem ridiculous to you all, it's not funny to laugh at or make fun of the terminally ill people who do use fake pets for comfort (which is what the target audience was). Like on the Amazon reviews there were photos of old senior people with advanced alzheimers and terminally ill people in beds or hospitals who did find those fake pets like plushies comforting. So no, you people shouldn't be ridiculing something that these sick terminally ill or very senior old people with health problems take seriously as something comforting for them. Instead of being childish and immature making fun of such a depressing topic, you should all try to be more understanding for those people (those people who are the target audience for those types of products).

Always thought it was dumb, when I was a child my mother's friend had a *perfect polly type toy that perched on what looked like a brass perch the perch was more impressive then the bird. and the lady had it hung from the ceiling and she was very proud of it. It chirped and it had feathers and it ruffled its feathers. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
