Dip n Dots is made by flash freezing ice cream mix with liquid nitrogen. Just shoving anything into a tray and in the freezer to freeze over time would never make Dip n Dots. I really don't understand why the product was advertised like it could make the same thing other than obvious cash grab and hoping people find it too much of a hassel to return.

As a down to earth Dutch person I can’t for the life of me think why anybody should need a bread slicer aid or a butter grater. I eat sliced bread with butter everyday. Just get a bread knife and slice the bread, use butter at RT and spread with a regular knife. It’s not rocket science!

Supermarkets have bread slicing machines at the bakery counter too, though not so common these days. I can't see the use in a bread slicer either (I'm European too so maybe we just don't need perfect slices!)
@kikixchannel
@kikixchannel 2 ай бұрын
The butter stuff is to make a frozen (aka. hard) butter more maleable. As in, it is so that the butter can be left in the fridge all the time when not in use and still be easy to spread. There are obviously workarounds. Cut off a small chunk of butter and leave it out in the open for a few minutes before spreading it, for example. But at least there is an actual function for it. Well, there would be if it did work to make it easier, not harder. The bread slicer though? Yeah. No idea. I assume any bakery can make slices out in the US as well. If you're not buying bread from a bakery, then I'm pretty sure that even US has bread bags that are already sliced, too. And even if not, cutting the bread evenly is more about using a good knife than keeping the angle. And even THEN, there are...actual bread slicers, as in, electric bread saws that will cut the bread evenly, safely AND quickly. This kind of bread slice aid tries to solve a problem that doesn't exist, and even then, fails at it monumentally.

Bamboo was a very poor choice. It’s not that bamboo is a bad wood, but the grain is so long and slivers off easily when cut along it. My bread cutting board is raised rails in a metal base to catch the crumbs and the wood part is oak. There’s no side guides, just the base. If slicing is that important, have the bakery do it in their slicing machine.

I can't believe that a useless piece of counter clutter junk made it anywhere past a one star rating. You can't adjust the thickness and most bread comes already sliced that way. I have an ICEE maker that I received as a gift about 20 years ago. It has a canister that you freeze, fill with a can of soda, then place it horizontally into a rock tumbler-type enclosure. Does it work? Yup. Like a charm. Is it loud? Yup. Like a rock tumbler fill of gravel. The BEST part? It takes FOUR D-CELL BATTERIES 😳 that last for about 1 1/2 uses. I've tried unsuccessfully to give it away for years. "How do you plug it in?" is always the deal-breaker.

Next year might you review some sewing gadgets? I've got zero seamster skills but I'm sure there are some good items out there for novices. One that I have seen which would match your channel was a handheld sewing device, it was marketed as simple and easy to use. It was like a sewing machine that was powered by squeezing it.

@chapman1569 11 ай бұрын
If you think you might use a sewing machine regularly, I suggest buying a real sewing machine. As long as it does sticking for stretch fabrics you will be able to do almost anything. It is worth the price to get a real one, and when you buy at a sewing chop they will teach you how to use it. I learned to sew at at 10 years old and a toy sewing machine was so frustrating, when I got the real thing is was so satisfying. A good sewing machine can last a lifetime if taken care well. In fact, you may find one in a yard sale or thrift store or one of your relatives has a good one they dont ever use.

As someone who collects writing instruments...not for the collecting, but because I can't stop myself from buying new ones, the whole "inkless pen" thing just pisses me off. For one thing, they're pencils, not pens, and there's nothing remotely new about them. If you go to a good art supply shop, you can get ones that are basically a silver rod stuck in the end of a wooden handle. They sell a preparation to apply to the surface you intend to draw on, which I haven't gotten around to trying, but this type of pencil has been around for hundreds of years. The final device, the sweeper, seems like a cheap knock-off of a Bissel sweeper. If that's the sort of floor cleaner you want, get the Bissel--they've been making them forever, and they definitely work better than the thing you reviewed.

10:50 there is, you freeze the butter as cold as you can, hold it by the wrapping and grate it with a microplaner as fast as you can before your hand starts to soften it, put it back in the freezer to harden again and repeat. I had to do that when I made mincemeat, because I didn't want to buy suet, and grated butter dusted with flour to form small "grains" of butter is a method for substituting suet. I'm also wondering if you could pulse butter with some starch in a food processor to get that same effect, since it worked when I made oie crumble, and biscuit dough, I found out food processor cuts cold butter into dry ingredients really nicely.

Instead of the slushy machine, I propose the ZOKU slushy maker, no electricity required, no noise. You store it in the freezer and whenever you want a slushy just pour your favorite fruit juice and stir, in about 10 minutes of relaxing with a cold ZOKU in your hand anywhere, sitting on the patio for example, you get a delicious slushy. If you want comfortable shoes that will keep your feet dry when walking the dog , I suggest VESSI, they look like shoes but act like rainbows without the sweating. Mine hurt a bit at the back but after a few wear it was ok, just wear socks. About the cutting bread, to avoid slipping on the surface, put it on a wet towel, it will move less or very little. I own a regular one and it helps.

Oh, that's funny. I had a hand crank version of that Icee machine as a kid, and I remember it being terrible then too. I can't believe they tried again with an electric one, and charged something like 2-3x the price!

And on top of that anything from Wish you have to wait 2 weeks to even receive your purchase because that's how long it takes for them to shop your purchase.

I was intrigued with that cheaper inkless pen till I watch your original video about it and read the comments. They really aren't the same kind of pens. But hey, at least that Pininfarina pen is heavily discounted. You can get one for $65 now.

You need to have Bailey doing something with the countdown numbers. Like holding a number 9 sign,pulling something and then number three comes into frame. Stuff like that.

As I did, you probably wondered what the map pin that was included with the soft drink dispenser was for. It's to make a hole in the bottom of the inverted bottle so air can get in and allow the pressure to equalise. Just means you need to use the entire bottle before it goes flat.

A homemade projector using a cardboard box and phone can work quite well, but you have to implement it correctly. Using a regular phone or tablet will always fail because it's impossible for such a screen to use enough light. Successful implementations use an old phone screen that has been removed from the phone case so a bright light can shine through from the back. There are tutorials on KZbin on how to do it. Also, if you have a cutting board that slides around when you use it, place it on a folded slightly damp towel to keep it in place.

Regarding that vacuum broom hybrid, the concept is sound, I've seen that sort of thing work well. Excessive pet hair can be an issue but they work pretty well when made properly. Shark has one a friend has that works nicely. A dedicated vacuum and a decent broom would probably be more effective and faster for most people, but for one device to do all surfaces, especially with mobility issues where that sort of thing is easier than a broom and lighter than a dedicated vacuum, they *can* be good... just not that one.

Number 10: It's so simple even a mensa scholar could do it. That read like those Looney Toons cartoons where they're building something and the instructions spill to fill the room. Number 3: Remember when Sharper Image and Brookstone meant quality. Back in the 90s looking in those catalogs looked like I was looking into the future of tech. Now they just make cheap crap. Number 1: Great example of reinventing the wheel for no reason. Rectangles have been popular since they work. Do they still make Swivel Sweepers? Those were great for a poor kid in a condo with hardwood floors.

1st yr in high school culinary damp towel under cutting board but wood and plastic were used, but your fold-able add a table lock on the end. Our plastic bread slicer was chipped after moving on foot still sliced but awkward angle (when we made bread for a month the wire broke [she always kept next to wall while cooking, wire 3ft long FOR A REASON at least a foot plus away and some slack ]

If you use the folding cutting board backwards, the smaller end is the perfect size funnel for those clear storage containers!!! You don't even have to take the lid off, just hold the handle in towards the opening and pour your little heart out, 🙃 with little to no spillage!¡!

I agree that the bread slicer was bad, but I really wish you'd stop saying cutting boards and bread slicers getting marked up with cut marks is a negative. If they don't get marked up, your knife is getting dulled. The splinters were a problem, but the knife marks are a feature not a bug.

kind of what a cutting board is for really. So you don't mark up other surfaces. But still a wooden Cutting board/bread slicer is a bad product for sure. Even a plastic one would still be bad, because of Knives shaving the plastic off.

@@michaelmardling3152 eh, it depends on the wood, and the type of plastic. Mom has a cutting board that's made of dense wood that doesn't splinter easily and loves it, as well as her thin plastic sheets that also don't split off pieces easily, but do have a problem with wanting to curl the longer she uses them.

I got some cheap cutting mats on Amazon, they scratch really bad, but they're just flexible plastic or something, the bottom is textured so they don't slip too much, the only issue is there's no edge to stop liquid from running off. But they can basically roll into an entire funnel if you want and then flatten right out, just make sure you store them flat, I have them stuffed between the box I cover my KitchenAid mixer with, and boxes of ziploc bags and tin foil, so that they're pressed flat but vertical at all times and the plastic doesn't get stressed but keeps flat. I've used them maybe five years now and the only real problem is all the scratches, but it's fine because I've never met a cutting board or mat that doesn't scratch, it does its job.

The phone projector, what was your screen brightness? Mine is normally at 50%. For indoor use. Was yours at 100% getting those dim images?

I bought an Icee maker at Walmart years ago, and it was awesome, it works great! You could make an icy out of any kind of soda or drink that you wanted. There was a metal bucket on the inside that you filled with ice and salt you put the lid on that put it inside and then you pour your drink around it and then put the lid on and spin. It worked super fast and was super fun to do.

That cardboard cell phone box projector (item #3) reminded me of my 2nd grade elementary school science fair project (a 2 D-cell flashlight with a cardboard tube and convex magnifier lens at the end). My "laser" was far brighter and had a longer range. I might sue for infringement, but the 60 year time lapse might run into statute of limitation issues ... Great review however.
