Hey Josh, have you had any trouble with your big TYM over heating? I’ve seen other guys on KZbin that’s had issues with their big TYM tractors over heating. Great video as usual brother!!

Not at all. Just have to keep the grill cleaned after you mow. Never had an issue.

That works great! 👍 Clearwater, FL update: Electric still down, but internet came back yesterday. Trees down everywhere- the whole yard was a mess! Huge limb missed the lanai by 5 feet, one leak in the roof, but all OK! Oupes solar enerator running the fridge & freezer, recharging with the gas generator only takes 2-3 hours, and it's much more QUIET not having to run the gas generator all the time! BLESSED!! 🙏🏻💪🙏🏻

Thirty some-odd years ago I bought a rusty old 3-point Landscape Rake with broken Scarifiers, for about $150. I took off the useless Scarifiers and have used the rake ever since to "groom" my 1/2 mile gravel driveway. Raking works much better than a 3-point grader blade. It pulls the high spots into the low spots without loosening or relocating a lot of material.

There are times when you say you created your own problem, slinging that gravel around like that I was waiting on busted glass on the big tractor in the back, the Honda and your camera. Subscribed and enjoy your vids

Thought you loved the ventrac for brush hogging?
@StoneyRidgeFarmer

If ya had a 15 foot mower to do this or a 6ft..which would you choose lol...Ventrac is great for smaller areas and brushy edges as well as the lawns

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Thats what I was thinking but you said you preferred the ventrac even when mowing 80 acres in a past video. Did you not have the 15' batwing at that time?
@StoneyRidgeFarmer

nope....didn't have the bat wing....back when I was mowing the entire farm with the ventrac I was running a 6ft woods brush bull cutter. Once you go batwing you just dont' go back lol

Thanks for the video. I am going tomorrow morning to look at a job for an 11-acre horse pasture. Why did you mow after using the harrow and seeding? Also, what is the difference between Kentucky 31 Fescue and Kentucky 32 Fescue? Thank you!

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer right, but I wondered why you mowed last instead of first. Didn't know if it matters which one you do first, mow, then seed or seed then mow.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer Ай бұрын
drag/seed ...then mow. If I mowed first I'd be dragging up all the debris from mowing into piles all over the place. Drag/seed then mow to put a blanket of moisture retaining fodder over the grass seed. I tried mowing first and raked up big piles of hay everywhere...this wasn't ideal

I am sure I am wrong but I would have mowed before I seeded and tilled, what is the reason you chose to seed and harrow first?
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer Ай бұрын
seed, harrow then mow....once you mow you're covering your seed with litter/straw/bedding. If ya mowed first you'd be raking up all the cuttings into piles and you'd be spreading seed all over the top of the bedding that holds the moisture
@JohnnyWilliams-FreeMan
@JohnnyWilliams-FreeMan Ай бұрын
I would think you should mow the tops of weeds down first... then Seed and Drag. Does it really matter?
@geraldgammel1569
@geraldgammel1569 Ай бұрын
I agree...after you did such a good job evenly distributing the seed then it would seem the batwing would blow the seed around. But what do I know? 😂 Great video.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer Ай бұрын
If I mowed first, then the hair would drag up all of the debris that I mowed down and make piles of hay in the pasture. If I mow, secondly the hay falls down onto the seed and holds moisture to the soil.
@JohnnyWilliams-FreeMan
@JohnnyWilliams-FreeMan Ай бұрын
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Thanks.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer Ай бұрын
make sense to ya now? The seed is spread and drug around, then even when mowing it might blow around a tiny bit, but it's still seed on the ground. That batwing isn't really blowing much around...it's covering the seed with the fodder that is left behind after I mow. Even when I overseed my lawn I mow afterwards
