near the end of this episode as you were driving wearing the sheep skin jean jacket brought back a flood of memories ......in 1978 while at home in Sooke B.C. my son was in school and my 3 year old daughter Sokfa would come with me while doing my small clean-up business .......like you I would come home with my Datsun overflowing and would have my piles for scrap metal wood etc. and a small pile of real junk, on one of these trips I cleaned out a small shed filled to the brim with boxes of new fishing lures rods hooks and a new sheep skinned jean jacket I wore it for years I loved that jacket .......it brought a huge smile within me....... many thanks and keep up the scrounging .........now in my mid seventies I spend time reflecting on those times I've live on Quadra Island for the past 35 years all of which was possible from re-using and utilizing all of the waste .......if you find yourself out west look me up .............all the best Paul Bishop

That's how she rolls. Ups and downs. I think we all join in for the same reason. We watch for you. I watch ads when they are not 45 mins long. I see alot of that now. Today alone had a 3 hour ad, full documentary as an ad. Crazy. So continue showing all you want.I for one appreciate it. Look forward to the uploads weekly. Oh the mushroom video was a nice change up. Not sure where I would do that here in Newfoundland but looks like a great time to get out in nature and make a bit of coin. Keep it up Thub!

I respect the fact that you're still scraping in Calgary. I've seen a lot of them come and go here.

It’s tough to make it work long term, but I think that’s a feature more than anything? Scrapping is a great way to fill the gaps, maybe not so much a career. Some folks definitely make it work and work really well, but it’s good that some people do it for a while and then move on to something more reliable. Personally I love it, I’m having a great time!

There is a very high likelihood I can send you with a remote for both of those TVs. I can let you know Monday if you’re interested! Also, please keep up side missions like mushroom picking. It was just like old school Thub videos and I really dug that!
@thubprint6 ай бұрын
I would appreciate that! The jvc would be a nice treat but the Toshiba would be a huge help. Pm me somewhere, I can send you pics to confirm and of course I’d pay you for them 👍 The mushroom one was great fun, I’ll keep making those ones whenever possible! The views do matter of course, so I can’t just do side quests unfortunately 😆
@westermanneric6 ай бұрын
@@thubprint Oh yeah, of course! You gotta make a living! It was just super cool seeing what else you get up to. I really liked the old videos for that, when you’d sprinkle in a couple that were completely different. As for remotes I’ll check my stash on Monday and let you know what I’ve got. They won’t be the exact model or anything but I’ve had great luck with backwards compatibility.

I love the old school picking, but that mushroom one was special. Maybe tree planting this summer?
@thubprint6 ай бұрын
Tree planting isn’t the kind of thing you can typically waltz in, do for a week or two, and then leave when it suits you.. they’ve always had a problem with people trying to leave a couple weeks early for festival season so they’re generally pretty strict about “celebrity plants”. I’m glad you agree though, I’d love to just do videos like that! (You may have noticed the trend 😆) there are a few other adventures that I think are worth a feature however, so I’m looking at scheduling them in this year.

We cleaned out my wife's Father's apartment, he was a massive smoker, we threw everything into the garage for 6 months before dealing with his estate, sigh, fk/sht, contact high from the nicotine yellow stained stuff. It literally polluted the garage with 2nd hand smoke, good times!

How do you remove glue or silicone from aluminum extrusion?
@thubprint6 ай бұрын
It’s actually pretty tough sometimes, I usually just give it a once over with a metal scraper and try get it “good enough”, but I always have a couple dirty pieces of extrusion anyway so I don’t fight that hard over it. If you really need it clean though a wire wheel on an angle grinder is probably your best bet 👍
@PolarBearStorage6 ай бұрын
@@thubprint I am tempted to try a wire wheel on a mounted grinder. Have you tried this?
@thubprint6 ай бұрын
@@PolarBearStorage I haven’t tried that personally, and it kind of sounds like a bad plan to me… those things have a lot of power, and they aren’t meant for working on large pieces of material. Too risky for me, much better to put the workpiece in a mounted vice and use the angle grinder 👍
