Its a genius movie masterpiece it was independent, low budget in filmed in 33 days. There were barely any actors, and for most of the time all in 1 room. This is my absolute favorite movie of all time. You really should watch it.

Great that Duncan Jones calls it "our" film at the start his idea was superb but not many actors could have pulled it off like Sam Rockwell did it's also very cool that Jones wrote this specifically to work with Rockwell

Best low budget Sci-Fi movie ever made! Sams acting was awesome! He shoulda won the first award for true believable character, care about, cant take your eyes off of! Brilliant film in every area!

This movie surpassed my expectations. Most sci-fi movies would save the "oh shit!" moment for the final act and play up the mystery elements, and probably would have inserted more hallucinations and an unreliable narrator; this movie just straight-up puts its twist at the end of the first act; and oddly enough, the story is just getting started and the movie decides to really explore Sam's reaction to the twist and the tension is in how *he* reacts to it, not some plot McGuffin. Also, I really like the way they played it in terms of the humor. Rather than being over the top instead its just ... awkward; but Sam tries to play things cool and be cool about it; it's awkward, funny, very sad, baked in buckets of relatability. Sam Rockwell was the perfect casting for this movie. Duncan and Sam, thank you so much for making this movie the way you did. It is simultaneously the least marketable and the most brilliant hardcore sci-fi film in decades.

Great commentary on the humor part. It's so subtle and so important. I had to watch it three times before my heart cracked, then it shattered... destroyed. Timeless story, flawless directing, sublime performance, stunning soundtrack. Truly a classic.

I heard that "Source Code " by Duncan Jones is too a really good movie im looking forward to this guy no movie had ever brought tears in my eyes like " Moon "

This is way better than Avatar. Yes the FX are brilliant but it left me cold emotionally. This film connects on that level. It just amazing they did it so cheaply and in such a short timsescale (33 days)

I don't even see the oscars as the ultimate achievement or an indicator of greatness anymore. When a movie that got BRUTAL reviews like Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close can get a nom for best picture, gotta question it.

I agree completely. His father didn't pay for it. Sony and Sting's wife, Trudy, and another corporation are listed as the people that provided the funding. He has directed music videos and commercials for years in London and has a film degree from the US.

Gonna parrot every post in here and say that this was one of my favorite movies, if not the favorite. Has great replay value too. Can't really imagine that it'd be very popular with the female genpop.

O/ Female here who likes this movie A LOT ! Just saying so there would be lesser people who think this wouldn't be popular for the female genpop. My cousin works as a producer and said they send different movie trailers for men and women in facebook.. which is.. really stupid.

Gosh, don't they look alike? Duncan Jones is such a lovely man, you wouldn't think he's the son of a famous person. Just goes to show, they're not all spoilt brats.
@liorap563610 жыл бұрын
Duncan Jones is David Bowie's son. And, was called Zowie Bowie for a lot of his childhood. The zowie bowie that comes up is probably a Bowie impersonator/performer.

I thought it was highly overrated, personally. But I was impressed with the level of production value with the budget they had. It was definitely Rockwell's best performance.

@johnnythunders78 I'm guessing you're joking... But, if not, you're wrong. He's there for 3 years to mine Helium-3 and send it back to Earth as a clean alternative energy source. He isn't an alternate Sam, he's a clone. That's why they bring up clones so many times, and why they also go down into "The nursery" and find all the clones. The reason the contract is only 3 years long is because that's how long clones last. If you don't believe me, then look it up on Wikipedia, or some other place.
@johnnythunders7814 жыл бұрын
They weren't clones, they were alternate versions of Sam Bell from other dimensions. That was the whole point of his mission on the moon, multiverse research.
