Wait if they had super lasers why even send in troops? Just use the lasers

Maybe they can't afford equipment loss. They use the lazer after Paul and Chani take out the air support. If they use at the start of the fight, air support's gunner take them out as well, loss the 2 super lazers and 4 men, assuming it need 2 to operate a lazer gun. Maybe lazer have a long recharge. If you use lazer to take out air support first, it prolonged the fight, Harkonnen reinforcement arrive, harvestor suffered minor damage, mission fail.

They can't laser the thopter because it's shielded,so it could just mow them all down
