Habakkuk 3:11-13 "From the east the crescent stood at the heights, walking in the light of the weapons, the radiance of Barack (Husein Obama) from the thrust. There is indignation at his march on the Earth; in anger he trampled the nations. He went forth for the salvation of his people; for the salvation he's anointed. Quran 13:11b-14a says, “Never doeth Allah change the condition of a people, excepting they change themselves, and Allah intendeth evil for all people, and there is no stopping him. Neither doeth he accept an equal. Barack is he who showeth you the face of Allah, giving a fear and a hope, though heavy the clouds and the thunder, exalt and prostrate to him, for even angels fear him, for he sendeth forth thunderbolts, striking whom he wills, while they dispute before the face of Allah, and he is severe in his attack. To him alone are the prayers in truth." Quran 7:45-47 says, “Who shall avert people from the path of Allah? And who will be declared the maker of deception? They were focused on the Hereafter, disbelievers. Between them shall be a barrier a family of men of Obama, who shall recognize them all by their markings. And one (Barack Obama) shall call out to the companions of Paradise, “PEACE ON YOU.” They shall not have entered, but shall have the assurance. And his eyes shall turn towards the people to be torched for they cry out, “Lord let us not be cast into fire among the wicked” but the man Obama shall say, “I know you by your looks, but none of your riches or pride of life shall avail you now, for these men have sworn that you may never earn the mercy of Allah.” Then he shall turn to his own BARACK (the blessing) shall say, “Come with me to paradise, for you will have nothing to fear, neither regret.”” Why would they have such little faith in a time they know they are about to be torched, while talking to Barack Hussein Obama? Well because he already had two times, was cut off to prosper in the sense hatred grew hugely under the era of Trump, we got an image of his time now and that is almost over. The desire of women was denied; Hillary never made it. He came in with a Nobel Peace Prize already in hand. He put grain offering in the wing; people put paper into the Wailing Wall all the time and he did too. He removed three kings in Egypt, Libya, and Tunesia and turned the key to that bottomless pit by WikiLeaks and an Arab Apology tour where at the end he kissed the ring of the Saudi prince over the Ka'aba in Mecca. So he caused the Arab Spring and they have been flooding out of that bottomless pit into Europe to burn down churches ever since so the second beast is giving their power unto the image of a beast. Ten stupid Muslim leaders will demand a place in his throne room at the top of Mt. Zion and they will reign with him for one literal hour for he has already fulfilled the Holy Bible, so they reign just long enough for one piss break into their pants when they see Xi and Putin have no plans to prostrate five times a day to Barack Hussein Obama for seven years and they don't have to for the Muslims picked the one person who fulfilled enough already for all of them to rush to be with demons in hell real quick for the whole world will be judged by fire when Islam looks to have won over Christianity and Judaism.

@@wandering3ngineer, Daniel speaks of beast ruling over the region of the Middle East and has seven with an 8th from a far. Yet he also brings up North and South and by prophecy shows through time that the North is Christianity and the South is Islam, but only over time as first there is gradual transformation, but the prophecies slowly show North must be Christianity and not one country or organized political power any more and for South it can't be one nation as parts of the prophecy reveal Egypt, but over time happen when the Ottoman Empire exists and no longer even in the Egyptian region. WHAT IS HISTORY, for as far as I can tell the prophecy is nearly completely fulfilled? See if you can follow me, in this: 1st BEAST is Babylon (Shinar) 2nd BEAST is Persia (Elam) 3rd BEAST is Greece (Goiim) 4th BEAST is Rome (diverse in that it did not exist in Genesis 14) Christ Jesus came and bruised the head. 5th BEAST is the Holy Roman Empire ("is, and is not, and yet is" for Christ Jesus bruised the head) 6th BEAST is Byzantine (NOT YET COME, in the time of Apostle John, who describes it as an EMPIRE for a little while) 7th BEAST is the Ottoman Empire The 8th beast comes from the 4th beast for indeed Western Culture has been dominating the Middle East since the ripping apart of the Ottoman Empire in 1919, and we of the Western world demonstrate ourselves ever since, without a care for the past of that region, which is prideful of their past compared to the rest of the world. "Here is a mind having wisdom: seven (7) heads (rule the region of The Middle East), seven (7) mountains (empires), where the woman is seated. Seven (7) rule, five (5) have fallen, one is another, not yet come (Byzantine), and when it come, it is necessary to remain a little while. The beast which is and is not, yet is, is also an eighth (8th) demonstrating himself, of the seventh (7th), and leadeth unto Apollyon (the Destroyer)." - Revelation 17:9-11 Daniel 7:21-22 "I kept looking and a horn was waging war with saints and overcame them. Then the Ancient of days came to judgement (resurrection of the dead and physical rapture up) to be given to the holy of the Highest One, and the time had arrived for the saints to possess a kingdom (heaven)." Daniel 7:23 “it followed the fourth beast, the fourth kingdom (America came out of the Western world) and the Earth had changed, for all kingdoms were devoured on the whole Earth, they were tread down and crushed (the world-wide apocalypse of WWI).” Daniel 7:24 “for the ten and their horns were of this kingdom (America drew the lines in the Middle East in 1919), ten kings (to be declared in the Middle East of the remains of The Ottoman Empire), arise and another arose after (Barack Hussein Obama in America), changing all the first and ruining three kings (Egypt, Libya, and Tunesia).” Daniel 7:25 “He will speak against Allah, to wear out the saints of the Highest One, intending to change time to a decree (stop all time - decrees are final), and give his hand a time, and a time, and a cutting off time.” Daniel 7:26 “But the judgment shall be final and his dominion shall pass away, then annihilation, the perishing of the end.” Daniel 7:27-28 “He shall reign with dominion great all kingdoms underneath the whole of heavens (HELL), give the people under all of heaven to the people of Allah, for his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall be in reverence and full obedience (the main focus of Islam), for here revelation ended with, Daniel (God is my judge), the thought was greatly alarming, and my face whitened sick.” Revelation 1:1 "Apocalypse! Jesus Christ demonstrates a god (Allah) giveth unto his slaves (Muslims), these things must soon take place, for the apostle is a sign, in bonds is John." Revelation 13:18 "Here is wisdom: let him with understanding number the multitude of the beast (Allah) for it is the multitude of a man (Muhammed) and his multitude cometh BESM (6 - in the name of) ALLAH (6 - The Most High) ISLAM (6 - in the full submission)." Revelation 20:4 "All shall see a throne, for judgment shall be given unto the souls of those who behead people (Muslims) because of the testimony of Jesus on account of a Word (Quran) from their god (Allah). (Judgment) Anyone who does reverence to the beast (Allah) or his representative (Muhammed), receiving the mark on the forehead or hand. For the dead shall come to life. There are far more useful and non biased breakdowns of the Middle Eastern influences you can find online. Also highly suggest actually researching what Herbert himself had to say about Islam, religion, and its influence on dune. Might not be what you expect. "Much that was called religion has carried an unconscious attitude of hostility toward life. True religion must teach that life is filled with joys pleasing to the eye of God, that knowledge without action is empty. All men must see that the teaching of religion by rules and rote is largely a hoax" - dune

Dune is an Easter egg in reference to the occult origins of Islam. Arrakis (Arabia) Orbits Canopus which is the Star the Kaaba is aligned with. Canopus represented by Al-Uzzá, the Goddess known as Artimpasa to the Scythians who worshiped her by circling a black stone now glued to the Kaaba. The Fremen are the Adnanites with Stilgar being Muhammad. The Atreides are the House of Karen with Paul being Salman the Persian. The Harkonen are the House of Sassanids with Baron being Khosrow I believe. The Padashah is the Ardashir title. The reference to Ceaser refers to a deep occult history pertaining to Thea Musa, daughter of Julius and Cleopatra, who was gifted by Augustus to Phraates IV- Cleos ex- by Augustus. Karen being the son of Cleo and Phraates IV whose descendants infused with the descendants of Thea and Phraates IV.

@@deanmckenna7641, the writer Edgar Rice Burroughs influenced much with "A Princess of Mars." I have this weird feeling that "Dune 2" will break into the top 100 movies on my favorites list. I love "Star Wars" since a child. I hated "Dune" in 1984 with Sting. I love Sting as an musician. "Dune" in 2021 is good and I really liked it, but somehow the Anti-Christ (Mahdi) making it to Jerusalem is unlikely to surpass "Star Wars." It might be interesting in a SCI-FI film to see Islam's vision of peace, and so I am glad that "Dune" will have a part two, but I'm not holding my breath that it will make the top 100 favorite movies. As a child when I read the book I felt it pulled from Lawrence of Arabia and Islamic culture of the Caucasus or Bedouin tribes of Arabia, but I never got the idea of Atreides being America with capitalism waning. The movie in 2021 helped me see that connection. The Fremen call Paul the Mahdi is a dead give away that this whole thing is an Islamic end times vision. Hence the dead bodies that Paul sees piling up as he fulfills his place in history, by leaving America and being a Muslim as that is how the first movie ends. Here is where these three related series have fallen so far and any you don't see aren't loved enough to mention. 20) Star Wars: the Empire Strikes Back (1980) 21) Star Wars: a New Hope (1977) 112) John Carter (2012) 148) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983) 269) Dune (2021) To quote the author "I am showing you the superhero syndrome and your own participation in it." - Frank Herbert, speaking about "Dune." "A Princess of Mars," from 1912, inspired things like: Star Wars, Avatar, Indiana Jones, Superman, and Dune. "A Princess of Mars" even inspired Ray Douglas Bradbury. If you want to see a movie of it, see "John Carter" from 2012. But the main reason for me to watch Dune 2 is to see whether Zendaya Coleman surpasses female actresses I loved in the past. Another in the top 100 and she will surpass all female actresses at least for having three movies in the top 100. The most have six movies on the list and two doing better than her top two. She is a great actress and deserves to be in a great SCI-FI. 10) Spiderman: No Way Home (2021) 96) The Greatest Showman (2017) 190) Spiderman: Far from Home (2019) 197) Spiderman: Homecoming (2017) 269) Dune (2021) Quran 13:11b-14a says, “Never doeth Allah change the condition of a people, excepting they change themselves, and Allah intendeth evil for all people, and there is no stopping him. Do you really believe Barack Hussein Obama can ensure people a great final home when they worry about being torched on this Earth and yet they speak to him as if he is worth having faith in? You’ve understood the purpose of Islamic revelation, which takes a long time for most. It’s not to describe a perfect utopia to create nor a perfect person to be, but in consideration of the thousands upon thousands of human existence in this world, and for untold thousands upon thousands more to go, humanity will undergo many forms of darknesses, it is guidance for how to retain humanity across imperfect times, and return at the end of times with a soul that isn’t disfigured.

Loved this material. I adore Dune and have also explored Islam through my studies. I met Palestinian immigrants living in my country, and their strong devotion and compassion fascinated me. What is going on in Palestine is revealing to us what "the West" is really about. As a Latin American, It is important to understand our Latin American countries are not even considered "The West" by the ruling countries of the world so why are we trying to emulate their sort of high morality that is truly non-existent? This mentality is very hard to overcome and I probably have more in common with my Palestinian brothers and sisters than we have with the US or any European country in terms of the struggle of life and how the colonizers destabilize our countries and rob our futures. High morality as in value of life above everything else, as in valuing rationality over misticality I would say thats very Western and the cause of a lot of the things that are good with the world. Islam i would say from my reduced knowledge about it doesnt value life nearly as much as being faithful to a god. For example in Sharia law loads of people are judged as unfaithful and killed just based on that fact. That is also part of Islam, to ignore that flaw is allowing evil to happen. The west also has a lot of flaws but is clearly much less primitive.

@@leonantonioreisenauer111 your reduced knowledge is based on prejudiced anti Muslim tropes that we've heard a thousand times over, in comparison to the first commentor who bases his opinion on his studies and interactions with Muslims. The west only values life when it applies to their allies as we've seen with Ukraine vs Gaza, so it remains a fickle power hungry structure that will turn a blind eye to atrocities for it's own interests and wield its power like a chess player. As the more powerful, the Western politicians sets the narrative and manufacturers consent for it's crimes from its people by claiming a superiority over human rights. God tells Muslims to protect human life at all costs even if it means partaking in what is impermissible to preserve it, e.g. eating pork in times of starvation if that is all that is available. Notes in new arrangements played with new instruments. So, while Islam is an inspiration for the Fremen, Zensunni Wanderers, and Arrakis itself. Another underemphasized current within Dune is the potency of dreams. The movie starts with the strange utterance that 'Dreams are messages from the deep', which is a direct paraphrase of Carl Jung's "Dreams are messages sent up from the unconscious". This concept itself parallels the Sufi tradition that the dream is a wellspring of metaphysical existence bubbling up into the 'nafs' (the lowest rung of the mind as per Sufi doctrine), an existence that is unburdened by the transient nature of physical time (referenced in the "Mirage" story of the Prophet Mohammad). Modern neuroscience posits that mammalian visual pathways are refined to perfection in the complete darkness of the womb when the fetus 'dreams', firing spontaneous 'dream-like' activity in the visual cortex and retinae and optic nerve tract without the animal once opening its eyes to see anything in the physical world. In Dune, Paul transcends the linear confines of time by 'dreaming' about various streams of events branching and budding and merging via a multitude of kaleidoscopic possibilities. Just an interesting connection.

Liked the mashup Lawrence of Arabia with Paul of Arrakis, with Malcolm X on the Hajj as an implicit counterpoint to that archetype. Nice way to shift which family is at the center of the narrative. Herbert was trying to question the Heroic story, and what Malcolm X saw after the Hajj might be a better way to achieve that goal than anything in the English storyteller's toolbox. I Like the way you highlight Arabic words. In our world Herbert functions sort of like the Missionaria Protectiva on Arrakis, setting up concepts to be elaborated by those yet to be born when the foundations were laid. Toynbee is also nice to start off with. I have read discourse about where Samuel Huntington got his idea of the West in Clash of Civilizations, and never seen Toynbee mentioned. There is also the issue of which lands are in "the West." Do Slavic lands, or Catholic countries other than Enlightenment France play any role in it?. Sicily, Austria, Hungary, Euskara, Eire. Much of the Americas was Christianized by Spain, Andalucia, which spent several centuries in which the Koran was more important than the ritual of the Mass, let alone reading the "Orange Catholic" Bible. Much of Europe has experienced the multiculturalism of invading armies in ways gringos outside a few blocks of New York city never have.

I am Muslim, and a fan of science fiction and fantasy novels. I was introduced to the Dune novels through the video games. Off the bat, in the game I realized the usage of Arabic terms. This led me to get my hands on the novels to get a better perspective of the author’s views. I took it as it is, a fantasy story, a what if scenario. So it was really fun to read and I consider the novels as a classic.

I am a muslim, and I enjoyed the movie a lot. I noticed several Islamic symbolisms and its parallelism to the movie, though they may be mostly more Arabic than Islamic, because they have more to do with the way of life of the Fremen (Arabic themes), rather than the core values of the religion itself (the Islamic themes). It is important because Islam does not represent Arab, as the core values are directed more towards humanity itself as a whole (at least what the religion was originally built for). However, some Arabian cultures may be present in a few of the Islamic teachings, though they are not something to be practiced obligatorily. This is why I believe there are more Arabian themes than the Islamic themes, but there are uses of some Islamic vocabularies, such as Mahdi. Mahdi is believed to be “the savior” in Islamic tradition. The movie itself could still stand as its own show without those, but those Arabic and Islamic elements are definitely the most interesting and captivating elements to experience. But yeah, good movie overall. Too bad not too many people in my theater saw it tho, they’re truly missing a lot.

You covered everything from the Ottomans to the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people with Hadith and verses from the Quran in the video. It's amazing how the novel seems so much relevant today despite being written over 50 years ago, but there is also a parallel that can be seen in the controlled and planned religion deciminated among less powerful societies and the spread of soviet and now russian/chinese influence in the global south, which was emerging around the time the first dune books were released. Just as the mahdi figure for the freman was basically an artificially constructed prophecy by bene gesserit, the whole discourse around socialism and liberation and it's promised utopian prospects was little more than a tool for the soviets to use in the cold war. Before I start getting angry replies by the leftists - I'm not saying that western colonialism is not an issue, but rather that it's much easier to redognise and put the blame on: returning to the dune examples, the Harkonnens are an example of how the west approaches colonial subjugation, while Atrides is more the soviet and, to a certain extent modern chinese version of colonialism. Same results, different approaches, and no point in debating which one is better.

Denis Villeneuve's Dune movie uses the term "holy war" instead of "jihad" to avoid the conventional association of jihad with Islamic terrorism. The word "jihad" is a foundational term and an essential concept in Frank Herbert's 1965 novel Dune, where Paul Atreides leads a jihad. However, the trailer for Dune uses the Christian term "crusade". Some say that the promotional material is pushing the movie as a typical chosen one savior story, so when the story actually plays out it'll be more of a shock to unsuspecting viewers.

Whats missing from the cultural analysis is that just as (modernist) materialist cultures (not just the west; see china, russia, europe) adopts Islam for their own (geopolitical) benefit, radical islam does the same, which is radical precisely because it borrows from modernity moral expediency, sacrificing fidelity. Eg suic*de is haram, so is taking innocent life. See MBZ's propaganda piece in the NYTimes regarding the dangers of Islamists. Therefore that "comedian" "joking" like that could be considered by religious scholars as haram, based on what Prophet Muhammed (SAWS) stated regarding joking about the religion. So that comedian could be construed as an Islamist because he adopted the moral and mental framework of modernity by accepting expediency.

@@vuvuvu6291 I can not use the word "inherit" as Jews never agreed to give their theology to Muslims and always maintained that Mohammad is a false prophet. As for the rest, that is your belief. I won't comment on that. However, the "submission" to God or treating God as Master and Men as his slave is rather very common theme in semitic religions, most of them are now extinct, leaving only their fragments. Abrahamic branch of semitism is only one that's still surviving.

@@puneetmishra4726 Whether Jews and Christians believe or disbelief in Islam, it's their rights. It's what Islam says and Muslims must believe be it there is or isn't scientific evidence, yet. The religion of Abraham is not part of any Semitic religions. It doesn't derived or branching from any of those religions. It is brand new, a revolutionary religion by that era standard. Abraham and Lot were teaching monotheism and worship a God without images and idols. Is it possible to achieve their feat if they are deriving the religion from Paganism? Like we see Buddhism. Be it they only revered Siddhartha Gautama, but as it was derived from Hinduism, the Pagan aspect persists as they still allow to worship Buddha and to some extent the saints through iconography and idols.
@puneetmishra47268 ай бұрын
@@vuvuvu6291 Oh yes, Abrahamic religion is indeed semitic and absolutely derived from the old semitic religions. A great example is that of Assyrians who also believed that there god Ashur is not only the greatest but the only true one and this belief fuelled their over-agressive campaigns against all of their neighbours. You read the inscriptions of any Assyrian kings and their words as in how they are the God's chosen representatives on earth, are very similar to the proclamations of any medieval Christian or Muslim king. The Canaanites, the Sumerians, the Babylonians et al were all the believers in similar thought. They are of course classified as "pagans" in the old testament because the writers of the Bible couldn't understand that their beliefs are very much similar to them. As far as practices are concerned, they are indeed inspired by the old semitic religions, polytheistic or not. The greatest example is the circumambulation of the black stone of Kaaba. Is it not a direct derivation of the custom of the Quraysh before they converted? It is rather amusing how Abrahamic religions proclaim their superiority by being monotheist and using the word "pagan" in derogatory sense for other schools of thought. I won't say anything else on that.

I think most people in the USA have been raised with so much internal antipathy towards anything vaguely middle eastern that major media has to tip toe around what they portray in a positive light. That’s why they usually just take superficial things like aesthetic, to play things safe You see it in Dune’s own fandom tbh. It’s absurd how many Dune fans will minimize the middle eastern/arabian influence on Dune’s setting even when it’s been said by Herbert himself
