Great video! Personally i found the most glaring part of western inability to comprehend and initiate dialogue with Islam with regard to the Film adaptations of Dune, was the explicit removal of certain terms common to Islamic religion and philosophy, used in the worldbuilding, which might be explained to us, but which are conspicuously absent. This in itself is a failure on our part. But this video was great.

I hope the reason for your break is an overcomeable one or a happy one and, selfishly, that one day I might find your efforts here again. L

This video paints islam like its all sunshine and rainbows and the west is evil for believing islam is harmful… i mean brother go and do any bit of research on islam and what the quran actually says and you will see the precedence in the west’s feelings. Go look into the history of islamic conquest in the middle and near east. Muhammad said convert or die and then when he dies all the people who converted switched back to their true faith since their oppressor was dead. Just took until some more oppressors came for them to submit for good Islam spread through conquest, unlike Christianity which spread through evangelism and having good evidence
@TheSamuraijim876 күн бұрын
No, actually, you're wrong. I'm *not* Muslim, but my background is in Middle Eastern studies. I've read the Qur'an and what is painfully clear is that you have not read a verse of it. What specific Qur'anic verses compel conversion at swordpoint? What Hadith? The Qur'an is quite clear on its principles for conversion *"No compulsion in religion."* *Islam even had a specific branch of jurisprudence set up for the proper governing of non-Muslims from the outset - the People of the Book, the Dhimmi and the Jizya. Why would this be the case if they were all ordered to be converted or executed?* *This alone shows your entire point to be abject bullshit.* Now, one thing you are right about is that not *everything* is sunshine and rainbows. It's true. Muslim rulers were humans, and humans err. The Muslim conquests *did* bring about violence. No one denies this. No more or less than previous conquests like the Romans. Just like Christians. Christianity didn't spread by simple evangelism, Christianity was a mere 10% of the population of the Roman Empire when it was adopted and imposed from the top down. It was then reinforced and reinforced more and more through pro-Christian policies. Personally, being agnostic, i'm able to see the strengths and weaknesses of both creeds and remain impartial. I suggest you take a step back, take a chill pill, and do the same.

@ The quran says to kill unbelievers. (surrah 9:5) It also says that that rape of non-muslim women is okay. Also, look at the difference of how christians are treated in muslim countries vs muslims in secular or Christian countries. Till this day muslims are murdering christians en masse. Show me your sources. Im quoting your own book.
@moxeboy6 күн бұрын
@ Also, christianity was never “imposed from the top down”. Christianity was made legal in the first half of the first millennium and from there the religion skyrocketed. It had nothing to do with forced conversion or oppression (like islam) It’s funny how you can come in so confident “my background is in middle eastern studies” yet you have no clue what youre talking about. Simple google searches prove what youre saying is wrong
@TheSamuraijim876 күн бұрын
@@moxeboy where did I say it had anything to do with Forced conversion? Although Christianity had plenty of instances of forced conversions, which I can list if you wish? I didn't deny the instances in which Islam had forced conversions. But claiming Christianity did not have instances of forced conversions is just plain ignorance. What I *said*, and which you didn't address, was that Christianity was brought to a largely Pagan society, which Rome was, by a top down imposition, which is what the Constantinian conversion was. It was imposed by a conversion of Emperor Constantine and the elites, and enforced through policy. As I said, scholarly consensus shows that when Constantine converted, only 10% of the Roman Empire was Christian. So conversion to Christianity was not all due to evangelism and choice. There were just as many instances of forced conversions among the history of Christianity. I also noticed that you pointedly avoided answering my initial question, that of which Qur'anic verses and Hadith specifically instruct Muslims to enforce conversion onto non-Muslims? And you also did not address why would Muslims invent a system of jurisprudence for the governance of non-Muslims from the start of their history, if they enforced conversion on all non-Muslims or killed them?

Dune is trying to warm about the dangers of theocratic beliefs, specifically Islam and Christianity. Islam is objectively evil and so was Muhammad. I understand Islam and I'm sorry, but it's evil. It has zero redeeming qualities.

I don't see much thought in the idea that Islam will overtake the west, nor will religiosity, I find such ideas baffling considering the rising Atheism of both former Christians, Hindus and Muslims. They are not as bedrock nor as stable as people think they are, Islam is only a thousand three hundred years old, and it itself replaced a religion that existed beforehand. Monotheistic religions will go the way of Polytheisitic religions, as the societies that propt them up continue to decline, with Protestant America, Catholic Europe and Islamic Middle East continuing to spiral, with each generation less well off then the last. I've personally seen former Muslim families fade into Atheism as each generation past. Make no mistake, consumerism and materialism will consume all, for good and ill, it will break our morals and ethics, will make mockery of our faiths. Or perhaps it won't, we will see how the wind blows in the next generations.
