You are not prepared for what is to come. Watch the 10-minute preview of DUNE: PART TWO, buy or rent the home premiere now.
The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), Souheila Yacoub (“The Braves,” “Climax”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present A Legendary Pictures Production, A Film By Denis Villeneuve, “Dune: Part Two.” The film is slated for a March 1, 2024 release in theaters and IMAX nationwide and internationally beginning on 28 February 2024, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

@@husamstarxin4626 two reasons: 1. The shields attract worms and sends them into a killing frenzy hence why you may have noticed no one ever uses shields in the combat scenes in the desert, the spice harvestors don't even have shields on them for the same reason, however the Ornithopters (the dragonfly looking helicopters) do because obviously they're not touching the sand 2. As someone else already mentioned, if a laser gun hits your shield it causes a massive explosion of a nuclear proportion, the Harkonnen's were not sure whether they were under attack from Fremen with lasers or with maula pistols so it's safer not to use them in case someone's shield gets hit by a laser

Insane soundtrack and amazing unique atsmosphere. It'a literally amazing scene for understanding this lore. Dramatic, epic, futurustic, complex and variety lore. Secondly, before Arrakis, how they perfectly showed the Emperor and his reaction to Leto's death, it was very accurate. Shaddam loved Leto as his son, but still he strove for power and therefore killed him, which was very painful for him as a man. Walken did amazing job. Same like Pugh. Listened to the audiobook and rewatched Dune 1 a couple times before the premiere. I did not want this sequel to end. When somebody says Dune 2 was better than Dune 1, with no strike against Dune 1, they mean it. First thing I said when it hit the credits "This is the best film adaptation of a book I've ever seen." I highly suggest if you haven't read the books, read Dune. I'm not exaggerating lmao. i want to go see it again in theaters. Not a clip wasted.

Why release it in 2:39:1 when TVs are already in the IMAX ratio. You're basically cropping the movie in half. Infuriating

Not everyone prefers 16:9+ aspect ratios. I much prefer a nice wide 2.4:1 for cinematic titles. Seeing more is not necessarily better. Letterboxing and cropping in focuses the eyes on what is happening in the scene and what is important. Comes down to preference at the end of the day. Planet Earth BBC style documentaries obviously benefit from a full frame, and actually, IMAX was created for nature content in the first place. It depends what the director is going for. The vast vast overwhelming majority of films are released in 2.35-2.4:1. There's a reason. You could also argue that 60fps is smoother, but every single film is released in 24fps. Its "more cinematic", as cringe as that might sound a lot of the time.

I LOVE how all the crazy Fremen devices, like the water collectors and the thumpers, were all done practically! They're of course impossible in real life but they have a strange logic to them. It feels like forever since we've seen real props in sci fi movies because it's so easy to build it in a computer. But Dune is in an analogue world so it makes sense to do as much in camera as humanly possible.

When you realise that both part One and Two opens with Sardaukars quotes, and that those quotes are in fact lies, deceptieve beliefs. Dune is in fact built to make you realise that dreams can be dangerous. That's why the only "noble" figure in part one, Duncan, says to Paul when he talks to him about his dreams "Dreams make good stories, but everything important happens when you're awake" as a warning to not be deceived by his dreams. Then the movies just reach another dimension.
