What Denis says at 1:22 about how fans of the Dune book missed the point and idolized Paul is so interesting, because that's exactly what's happening now with Dune: Part Two. And the same way Frank Herbert corrected the perception of Book Paul by writing Dune: Messiah, Denis Villeneuve will correct the perception of Film Paul by adapting Dune Messiah. Time is a flat circle.

Ok calm down Ledoux, the movie very clearly ends with Paul slipping away from the good guy role and nobody I’ve talked to about it has walked away from the film thinking he’s going down a good path. Denis didn’t leave Paul’s change as ambiguous as the book did, so part 3 isn’t going to shock anyone when Paul completes his arc.

I hope they make Dune Messiah in the similar vein to House of Dragon. That’d be amazing. There wasn’t much action, but there was a lot of intense politicking and nuanced dialogue.

After directing Dune Part One and Part Two, Blade Runner 2049, Arrival, Sicario, and Prisoners, Denis Villeneuve is one of the best directors working today and already deserving of an Oscar for best director in my opinion! Also, even though his movies are very different, I think they definitely have a recognizable, unique style when it comes to cinematography, lighting, colors (think of the beautiful silhouettes of characters especially in Sicario, Blade Runner, and Dune), editing, how slowly suspense is built up (think of the border sequence in Sicario, the approach to the UFO in Arrival, or K's exploration of Las Vegas in Blade Runner), the meaning of architecture, use of music, sound design, etc.

Denis has cited AKIRA being a source of inspiration for this film, and I know WB has the rights to the IP. I truly hope he gets to adapt it because we truly don’t need another half baked adaptation for anime. Denis has clearly conveyed he can create quality movies with sacred franchises (Blade Runner & Dune). A boy can wish can he?

Had this been not delayed, Denis Villeneuve and Yorgos Lanthimos would have been competing against each other for the second time since 2011 Oscars with Dune Part II and Poor Things for Best Director Last time was for Best International Feature Film in 2011 when Villeneuve was doing Incendies from Canada and Lanthimos was doing Dogtooth from Greece

As awesome as Dune part 2 was. I suddenly i can predict it getting two towers fatigue with getting less noms and the academy waiting for the third installment ofnthe series. Since you know the awards in general aren't the biggest sequel fans. Godfather and godfather 2 had one year separated. And the lord of the rings didn't won until with Return of the king. Who knows, maybe they will win for Messiah

Where's CHOAM? Where's the Spacing Guild? Smugglers? The Greenhouse? Lady Fenrig? Count Fenrig? Thufur Hawatt? Its not a Masterpiece. Its the Reader's Dugest Condensed Books Cliff Notes lobotomized and cherry-picked Dune. Dune Flavored but no Dune Essence. 1984 and 2000 Dune has more story, history, PLOT. Dont hold your breath for Dune Messiah. These feel like the Disney Dune. Those whove read the books will wait another Decade for a true version of Dune trilogy.
