Dune and Terminator show us how sentient machines are a threat to humanity, whereas WALL·E and The Wild Robot show us that, maybe that wouldn’t be so bad for the rest of the universe. If you want a franchise that can balance both, look up Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West.

To put ur worries at rest. Yes we go back in time to fill in the blanks. Insiders have said that is the best part of the show infact and very compelling

Look into the Butlerian Jihad. It will give you a handle on what’s going on in that universe.

The start of the series was ok it doesn't have that feel of Dune at the moment. Maybe that will change later. I hope it does, tho

I'm a little worried. Although visually it's excellent, narratively it felt piloty; relaying on dense exposition. However that's true for some other great series, so for now I'll give it the benefit of doubt.

To be fair most of that was right at the start of the episode.

@JohnRochaSays Ah darn that's too bad! A nontrivial amount of my enjoyment of watching a show like this is looking forward to hearing what you all have to say after each episode 😅
