This looks really fun. Starting to see what the game will look like - spreading out to find the ball, then trying to surge down a poorly defended corridor when you have it, or blocking corridors and "marking" teleporters for defensive teams.

Very interesting game, this will be a really neat version. I just got fed my heart teaching my buddy how to play regular blood bowl and I was snotlings and he was necromantic and I had to surrender in the 4th turn of the second half because he killed or injured all but 2 snotlings and one troll… brutal

I had interpreted the rule differently for ball on walls... just one D6 on the first richochet then bounce it if required but not gaining momentum. And as the new target square was not on the reviever, shouldn't the Skaven have intercepted the ball instead of just a catch?

Great game guys. Can't wait to get playing with my life team. Ben's incredible youtube run continues. Tried to compare silver tower, shadows over hammarhal and cursed city tiles to see if I could add those to my dungeon. Tower and shadows are the same size but aren't all, in equal columns and rows. Cursed city are a little bigger. Still, I should be able to use some of them!

@@BoneheadPodcast Yeah I think Cursed city could only work if you set the game in the cursed city and exclusively used those tiles and just fudged the end zones - at least Cursed City could be used for something and wouldn't have died entirely in vain...... (Still the weirdest thing to happen in the hobby in 30 years!) The other warhammer quest tiles would work size wise. Some of them are not aligned the same way. There's definitely 10 or so that can I can add to create my mega dungeon.

Quick question if you dont mind. I have season one but never picked up season two. I intend to pick up Dungeon Bowl and want to know if it includes a complete rulebook if I want to expand into other teams or if I need to pick up a second season rulebook/ second season box set

Hey Matt! The DB rulebook has all the core mechanics for the game, including team development (levelling up and skills). It doesn’t have the rosters for the teams except the college ones though, but does have the stats for most players that are available! Basically, between the DB book and what you can Google / watch on here / you’re 98% there!!

Are there any limits on where you can place teleporters? Given how badly the Shadow team struggled to get through the walls of dwarves and ogres, I'd assume that they and other agility teams might want to place teleporters into the end-zone rooms just to give them that option when other plays look impossible. Especially so if it's legal to build a dungeon where the end-zone rooms connect to only one corridor.

Just double checked - the only restriction is that they can't be within 2 squares of a Chest (something we didn't check in either game... but didn't seem to make any problems!), or in an Endzone room or adjacent tile! But I think the alternating deployment of teleporters will help your team's strategy! We kinda just plonked them down 😁

How I was expected Leap and gobelin/Snotling will be important for agility teams. Or take a the Wizard for Shadow team. I don't know if it's ballanced but maybe a league were every body have their Wizard at the start of the game would be great fun I think and really strategic.

Waiting to get my hands on it, don't know if turn limit is the way to go though, I'd be more interested in a no walking off or delay of game tactics like in 11s did with if you can score you have to score. For intense, a foul if a td or main corridor is fully blocked off (like in line defense games)

The angles were wrong on the wall pass. Isnt it supposed to come off the ball at the same angle it hit the wall? So hitting the wall 4 squares up would hit the other wall after another 4 squares and not 1 where it then bounced onto the player.

Thanks for the game. I’m not sure if it is me misprediction what will happen, or a misread rule from you, but the ball bouncing off of walls seems a bit silly. Each wall causes a D6 bounce. In a corridor it would be possible to hail Mail around a corner with a short pass if this is the case. As long as you roll a 3+ on bounce distance.

@@BoneheadPodcast it could be a fun additional rule, anti inertia walls The ball continues to bounce until a player “catches” the ball. When a player does, the ball blocks the player with strength equal to the number of walls it bounced off of after the first. If the ball bounces into a players square they can take a dodge roll to duck. If they fail the roll, or choose to not dodge they must attempt to catch the ball.

Hmmm... I don't know... I would have thought that speed would be king, getting the ball early and then rushing to the endzone. But as you talk about at the end, it seems a bit too easy to block corridors with blockers. So maybe that's the way to go? Just block off your endzone, let your opponent carry the ball to you, beat him to a bloody pulp, and then score...? I'm wondering if the issue isn't that there are too many players in the dungeon at the same time. Maybe it would play better in a Sevens format? But right now that's all theoryhammer, I suppose... Overall, my first impression is an even more chaotic version of Blood Bowl where luck, rather than skill, is going to carry the day. I'm looking forward to hearing the feedback from the first couple of tournaments.

@@BoneheadPodcast I completely agree. Time limits will be very important in this game. I just had a quick look through the rules. There is a suggested limit of two hours for a game. Seems fair to me. I don't mind spending up to three hours on a regular game of Blood Bowl, but for Dungeon Bowl I think two hours is stretching it a bit.

Good game! The rules/design of this feels like it's from 2nd edition BB, when the rules/design still needed a lot of work. I think if I were to do a league of this, I'd want to overhaul things, do the three balls and 16 turns as mentioned, do away with the doorway tiles (which are lame anyway) and have it be that rooms that touch are just open to each other (who goes back into these dungeons after excavation and builds all these walls anyway?), and also have a rule that endzones must have at least four adjoining squares connecting them to the rest of the dungeon. Also I think it's fair to dump these College rosters for regular Blood Bowl rosters, because if they were extensively play tested I'll eat any one of my many hats. They look like they were just made up to sell you four team boxes worth of models, and I wouldn't ask anybody to do that.

That was just a badly played last turn for the dwarves/ogres. Helps cancel the bribes they must have paid for the teleporter set up to lose half the shadow team.

It can definitely muddy the waters from a strategy point of view - we've seen that effect with adding high AG stars into low AG teams, but it can be a fun way to mix things up! 😁
