This is one excellent tutorial! Bravo! One nit-pick has still been spotted though: 16:35 : In year two, one can keep all of the up to three traps. One may return an old trap from an earlier round instead: The boxes the traps come in bear no labels. The imps will never know. 🦔

Dungeon Lords is one of my all time favorite games. I don't even care if I lose at it. I just have so much fun building my dungeon and making decisions.

Exactly! I'm still playing this game from time to time (it's been ~14 years already). I just like the crisis management aspect of the game and the theme itself is so cool. Expansion is also superb. Have you tried the Dungeon Petz? It's a different game from the same designer but with similar vibes and also very fun.

Great video, watched as I need to get it played again soon and needed a refresher. Dungeon lords was the first CGE game that I played and one of the first ultra heavy games I played when I found FANG (my then local games meet) in 2009, though I think I played Dungeon lords in 2010?

Yes Wow! Can't even begin to imagine the relentless hard work that has gone into making this exceptional video for a pretty complex game. This is going to help along all the new gamers enticed by the anniversary edition and a fantastic teaching tool when bringing new players into the fold later. Fantastic work Paul, thank you very much. Anyone on the fence about Dungeon Lords, like anything else - it's fairly easy once you know what you are doing , and what a gem of a game. It's a masterpiece in gaming. The combat token is a nice new addition, as is the troll token and metal coins. I see we are being kept in suspense over the new combat side of the board - genius!. Can't wait for my wooden boxed edition. Thanks again Paul and the brilliant CGE team for showing the rest how it's done :-)

I have three paladins of the first year. Do I need to choose which one I have to place in the setup phase? There is no any words about third one in the rule book.

3 Paladins? Is that from one of the promos? You have the elf and dwarf one? If so, I think you use those two instead of the original one.

Gaming Rules! Yeah I do. And which player will receive elf or dwarf? I saw that information on BGG, but I didn't understand exactly.

Information from BGG: This mini extension allows you to replace the two original paladins with two pairs of new paladins. Leave the original Paladin in the box and place the elf and dwarf pair on the tent at the start of each year. The first person to cross the paladin line on the evilometer will get the elf. If another player crosses the line, the less evil of the two will get the elf, and the other will get the more difficult dwarf. The elf is only worth 4 points at the end of the game while the dwarf is worth 6. Hope this helps.

I'm fairly sure it doesnt change. So, if I cross it first, I get the Elf. If you then cross the line and go higher than me, you get the elf and I get the dwarf. But if you dont go higher than me, I keep the elf.

Hi, I liked your video very much but I'm not getting a sense of how the game is played. I've been reading the book have the training scenarios out and I can't get how all this comes together. I'm happy to help in any way, but I dont know of any other videos there are. Is there something specific you are not getting? You play 4 seasons and it is all in preparation for the combat at the end of the first year, which is like a separate game. Then, you play year 2, and again, you are preparing for the combat at the end of the year.

I understand the overview. I don't have any sense of how it plays. To use another example. Its like understanding that Mario needs to make it to the other side, he can jump and run but dont have an idea of "how" to do it. This game wasn't as covered as other newer games. For example I learn best when I see a game being played. I get how it all functions. I saw your video and when I look at the boards I know what goes where and what they are but no idea how it all comes together.

ok so I can't find anyone to help me :P I started game as mage.. And got to the point of it letting me return to fargrove after using ring of talendor.. well I did battle mage quest( after starting game as mage) I finished battle mage and it skipped a block.. well I went back to house of tiger to start the quest for that class and that option was gone.. am I jumping to battle mage too soon??? Why does it tae house of tiger quest away and skip a block when I do battle mage :(

Gaming Rules! 5 years too late, but what they’re referencing is the videogame “dungeon lords”, I assume this person came into this video thinking it was for the videogame and asked the question. I doubt they watched video, so they didn’t realize this was for a board game.
