Still can remember how unfriendly Sebastian was shortly after been resurrected and how he´s waving of that he needs to consume souls and making pacts with demons. Confronted with this he´s like " Don´t complain, i don´t gamble with your soul anymore" Sebastian has great potential becoming a villain on his own

@@tylerdrake370 Sure, but when it came down to it, he wanted to use it on both but didn't because Twin Spell wasn't an option. So it would seem like Kelly forgot it was an option to upcast in that moment. If we're not being results oriented here; the chance at banishing two enemies like this would've been well worth a level 5 slot over the chance of banishing one enemy for a level 4 slot.

Contacting him was the best decision throughout the whole campaign! PS I love how Sebastian doesn't have an issue with sentencing Pluto's soul to damnation through attunement to the cursed sword while he gets to revive Mouse. A very good Lich roleplay! PPS Monty, DOFFing a shield takes an action, btw. Not questioning rule of cool, cause as a DM I've also saw similar situation unveil with one of my villains and forgot doffing rule for the shield :D

I feel bad for Sebastian. Every oppertunity he gets close to saving mouse, team tells him "don't do it this way. We can do it later. We'll help you do it in a better way." And every time, he trusts them and gives up the opportunity. This sword saga is like the 4th time it has happened throughout the entire Drakkenheim run.

I don’t know if Kelly will see this, but he could have asked Monty if he could have quickened mind sliver and then twinned banishment. Technically rules as written, if he quickened the cantrip, he would only be able to cast another cantrip, but most DMs allow the rule to be basically “leveled spells with only your action or bonus action”

@Radian76 It's only 6d6 because it was a huge greatsword as a Giant weapon and thus gives Pluto disadvantage on attack rolls. If Pluto attunes to it, it would become a regular Greatsword for 2d6, with a +3 property and the ability to consume the souls of who it slays.

The way Monty warned him as Ignatius made it seem like if he attuned to it Pluto as a character would cease to be, possibly becoming an NPC. I don't like the sound of it, and would prefer he become a righteous man like Theodore Marshall by the end of this.

@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya I mean, Pluto is already less hot tempered than Theodore Marshall was in life; so, I mean if he continues on the path towards being more genuinely just and virtuous, that'd bring him closer to Ignacious. I don't think Theodore Marshall had much wisdom (in the general sense - not the stat block wisdom) in life, though he did in the afterlife. In life, Theodore Marshall came across to me as a blend of righteous and self righteous (believably flawed).

I mostly referenced Theo because he tried to set Pluto down the right path early on and failed, partly because he was too self righteous. (good character writing on Monty's part) I do think Theo would be proud to see Pluto's progress though.

The issue is that they don't have access to the true resurrection spell without making (likely hugely unfavorable to them) deals with those capable of such powerful magic. Whereas Wish would only have the strings attached that Sebastian wants it to have (once he learns that spell).

Here are the timestamps for the episode (sorry they are so late), As always, spoiler warning if you haven't seen or finished the episode yet. 0:00 - Introduction 1:10 - Title sequence 2:11 - Recap starts 2:57 - Recap ends 6:02 - Pluto mixes up his timelines 8:40 - Battle strategies 11:49 - Warlocks are tricky 14:13 - Drakkenforce takes an 8th level aid for 40 extra HP and Veo uses her seal to give 20 temp HP 14:53 - Picking spells for everyone's rings of spell storing 16:30 - The party starts making there way to Ramik for a rematch 17:49 - Entering Ramik's sanctum, night game time is over 19:17 - Turns out it's movie night, Ramik and this demons are watching the lower plane's version of The 3 Stooges 20:43 - Initiative is rolled (remember that any damage done to Ramik is transferred to the Balor and Goristro) 21:31 - Round 1: Veo shoots the Goristro 3 times, dealing a total of 104 damage (that's ~ 1/3 of its health) 23:46 - The Balor crits trying to fling Sebastian again, but Veo silvery barbs it into a miss. It then attacks Veo w/ its lightning sword for 34 damage (ouch) 26:05 - Ramik tries to vortex warp Sebastian but he counterspells it (pros of fighting Warlocks: they're less likely to counter your counterspell) 26:19 - Pluto attacks the Balor (there was no damage give) then misty steps to Ramik, using his 2 attacks to disarm him of Saint Tarrna's Bane. dealing 26 damage (on 1 attack the other wasn't stated). 28:49 - Pluto then action surges using Saint Tarnna's Blade to attack Ramik, critting on the 1st attack and hitting w/ the other 2 for a total of 133 damage. (which is 66 and 67 to the Goristro and Balor, this leaves the Goristro Bloodied) 33:22 - The Goristro is pissed because it's taken ~170 damage this round, and charges Pluto. Hitting him for 73 damage 34:18 - Sebastian tries to mind sliver then quicken spell banishment on the Balor, it saves form both spells :( At least he didn't get T.K.Oed in round 1 (If mind sliver worked the Balor would have subtracted a d4 from its saving throw) 37:13 - Round 2: Veo cast zephyr strike then misses the Goristro w/ both attacks 39:24 - Ramik uses his meta knowledge to resummons his sword back to him (should have banished the sword) then hexes Pluto for strength 40:30 - The Balor misses Sebastian but hits Veo w/ the whip for only 12 damage (uncanny dodge) and moving her closer to it. Sebastian and Veo both take 10 fire damage from its flame aura 41:45 - Pluto tells Ignatius that they should go on a break then crits the Goristro for 48 damage and lands a goding attack, then continues to slash at it for another 41 damage 44:42 - The Goristro is badly wounded and tries to gore Pluto again, but it gets caught by sentinel and taking 24 damage. The enrages demon then punches Pluto twice for 40 damage 45:51 - Round 3: Veo misty steps out of the Balor's whip then headshots the Goristro slaying it w/ a critical hit. She then shoots the Balor for 22 damage. (killing the Goristro also keeps Ramik from killing it and gaining 310 temp HP, which would have been so bad) 48:00 - Sebastian's turn got skipped so he's going now, he summons Reaper then cast dominate monster on the Balor. It fails and crits Ramik, dealing 30 damage to Ramik directly for the first time. (but if Ramik kills the Balor he'll gain 262 temp HP) 51:50 - Ramik tries to misty step to Sebastian, but Pluto counter spells it. Ramik then hurls necrotic fire at Sebastian, who takes 27 damage 53:20 - Pluto hacks Ramik's limbs off one by one anime protagonist style, killing him. QoT is one of those rare villains/antiheroes that keeps on surviving against all odds. My bet is she has access to Clone spell at least as a one-time measure in the form of a scroll, and even killing her once will only hinder her advance. Then again, if Sebastian isn't there during stand-off, it might finally come to bloodshed since Pluto and Veo know those same automatons Kat is traveling with, were used for an attempt on Wilhelm's life.

Pretty sure she'd come back as normal. When Sebastian was dead they tried to use a Resurrection scroll at one point and it was implied that if the scroll was used, Sebastian would come back normally, but he chose to bring his mom and himself both back and that turned them into Balenorn (elf liches)

One sad thing about most dungeon is that any monsters often lack a reason for living there, people usually forget that even a monster needs food and water in most cases so access to that is need, this also changes how we think about dungeons themselves, as the core of them should be where they are for a reason, the design of it should have begun as maybe a crypt or something else, but that part should still be there even if the whole place has gone wild and turned into a true dungeon. Maybe there is only traces left, but it. If a rpg world had been real, everything should have a background, a reason for being there and so on and if so, that reason would have affected what was created in the first place. The typical dungeon just don't cut it unless it's fully a magical creation, it would have it's on ecology and so on and all would affect everything around the lair or dungeon... Sadly this is a personal pet peeve that surfaces now and then. Even a dungeon should have a vibrancy of something, maybe life, or monster lair, or worse, but it would still be a vibrancy of that type.. There would be smells, the freshness of the air would be altered and so on and all that adds to the reality of it or the feeling of it being a bit more real than the basic dungeon without any reason or meaning behind it other than being a monster treasure hunt area.

@1:13:00 Do they even have to fight against sorceror king to gain wish spell? Giving up/destroying the demonic blade for wish spell type reward should be enough... A fair trade: Most powerful blade for most powerful spell... And because wish spell has its weaknesses, it is even more than that... Fame gain goes each ways, one goes with less killing than other... And also, whom you want to kill is one of the main questions.

Old man night was content with the sword where it was. So he would not trade for it. Wish is Arcane magic so sacred flame can’t teach it.

@@treymarcum Huge religion most likely knows the ones that can teach it, when the price is right... And that sword is more than enough for one spell. And as we see in campaign, Old Man Knight seems to be reluctant to teach the spell... Not saying that OMK is the one that wants to have that blade. And if party does not use it, then it should be destroyed, so it can't be used to hurt them later. Trading the blade for Wish spell is good option, specially for those who wants to destroy it. But then you may ask, if giving sword away is having more positive effects than other options have. Peace with a religion and having situation normalized has huge benefits. And they have not even asked if they can get Mouse back along the leaders of the Sacred Fire... Not asking the questions from others, but just pushing his own one minded ways... (Gg, Pluto...)

They make a lot of assumptions about mouse. All those years in prisoned in hell. Is going to fundamentally change her also keep in mind this whole time she could have been tortured and corrupted by the demons. Like you have no idea the condition she is in in the first place. Who is to say she will will a pawn for Katarina? For all they now it could be the other way around. Their is still a lot of unknowns when it comes to mouse.

@10:00 Find a way to take the sword away... And teleport away. The rest of the battle is meaningless, so you could just avoid it. Ie. Dominate - "Gimme your sword" - teleport away... Add few variations to that, like heat metal, Pluto str checks, ... Of course this lin of action means they will be after you. But so does many stronger enemies, just because you have this item. This sword makes you a target for all who has hunger for power or for those who oppose too much or misused (define that with multiple ways) power. O.O Just use planar shift and take him alone vs you 3... Idk what level of that spell allows you to define targets thou... It would be a pretty op spell, specially in larger battles... And specially if you have different rate of time between the planes (allows resting whenever needed, 1 day here, 6s there...). My knowing Demongrip has Pact of the Blade and can summon the sword back as an action, there is absolutely no way that the party can just teleport away without Demongrip summoning it back. RAW there is no way to prevent this, even moving to another Plane of Existence. For the ability that Old Man Night used against the party, he did say that it requires his lair to cast the spell. It basically just his lair action in play

@@honahamomoru151 Yea, sword summoning back is a bitchy thing. Perhaps you could teleport, use anti-magic field or something that cuts the messaging and with using that just force the blade under your will? Has someone created a dominate artifact spell? You may try to bind some spells together to prevent others. If you can do certain abilities in a lair, then, can you lure the actual battle to your lair. Ie. planar shift or some other similarly c(r)ooked spell? Or change the battlefield properties so you can use these abilities... At high end you may start doing your own spells and combos, like Old Man Knight did in his lair. But yea, bending rules and making new ones depends greatly on what DM allows and the imagination of the players.
