@@salsamike647 Was it? I thought it inspired Spencer but he was more interested in Viruses, Wesker was parasites. And Miranda was whatever it was, fungi or something. It is explained in 8 with the letter but I can't remember. Might need to do a fourth playthrough soon. ^^

@@jamieenoshima5147 the origin of it all was the Megamycete, a type of fungus organism that formed a neural network and could give people regenerative abilities. Spencer was in contact with Miranda and was inspired by her work. He found the Progenitor virus through a special flower that existed in a primal underground African civilization. The T-virus and all the rest of the cannibal-creating viruses came from that. There’s also the Las Plagas that is a whole different thing, a type of parasite.

@@HeisetsuKuro Yes its dubbed over but he often 'acts' like it isn't. like he might be all like "ohhhhhh shit" if he almost gets caught even though its a dub and he knows what's happening. Same with his league videos back in the day. I'm aware they were dubbed over, but I feel like the example still works overall. Its somewhat similar to this.

I find it to be way more subtly terrifying than just outright. The entire game is filled with a very tense sense of dread and this is achieved through the virtuosic use of lighting, sound design, camera angles, and gorgeous pre-rendered images to convey the atmosphere required for a game like this to work on the sheer level that it does. The devil's in the details, so to speak.

Resident Evil, despite what it's classified as, is not a survival horror game, but a resource management one. And yes, resource management can be and often is part of survival horror, but you definitely are fighting more against your limited inventory space than you are zombies.

The older games, not just RE titles will always be scarier to me because there was something about having bad controls mixed with graphics that seemed to move on their own due to the limited tech back then. It gave the player more room to use their own imagination, and our own imagination is the scariest thing we can see.

Dunkey, you should try playing it with an enemy randomizer. Really easy to use with the PC version. You can also use a door skip mod along with it, so you don't have to watch door animations.

Damn, I kinda wish more games nowadays would use this type of game design with modern systems. Imagine incredibly real prerendered backgrounds, which allow for the characters/lighting/etc... to be near lifelife since more system power can be devoted to it. I mean, this game is what, Gamecube? And it looks almost like a modern gen game.
