An antique coal fired fish fryer that belonged to my great-grandfather is on display in the colliery village section of Beamish museum. (It was antiquated when he owned it, as he inherited when he took over the fish and chip shop from his father - he used it as a writing desk until the shop was damaged in a fire and he retired, and Beamish took the interior)

Dunrobin's whistle has been used in Looney Tunes (1930) as Porky's Railroad for Toots, Porky's engine.

I've seen dunrobin quite a bit in Bridgnorth shed as it's my hometown station but never stopped to do any research on her, but now I know, love these sorts of videos!

I’m a volunteer on the seven Valley Railway done a little bit of work on dunrobin. Still early days for it I’m afraid to say the most recent thing we did was rivet the Smokebox together the frame and chassis look absolutely beautiful though. And I can’t wait to see the progress.

I, as an avid steam fanatic, was on holiday with my parents at Dymchurch one year. Probably 1957/8. Of course a visit to the RH&DR had to take place and I recall seeing Dunrobin in a shed at Romney. Strangely, and this may be my fading memory cells, but I thought it was in a dark maroon colour. It's nice to know that it still exists

I have a book that details Dunrobin's time in Canada, with various photos and such. With so many famous people it's carried including prime ministers, royalty and more, and it's broad travels I'm always surprised that it's not more widely discussed.

What does "Pannier" mean in this case?
@SDE19945 ай бұрын
a great western pannier tank loco, the word pannier means that the side tanks are mounted to the sides of the boiler like the pannier boxes of a horse or motorbike instead of a usual side tank which sits on the running board (floor)

3'12". What an oddly Photoshopped image .... Along with all the other 15in gauge RH&DR locos, No.7 "Typhoon" stands around 5ft from rail to roof. I've been to Sixth Continent very many times and have never once seen people over 10ft tall !!

I wish I hadn't seen this comment because my dumb ass can't unsee it, let alone make sense of it.

@@HyperCat72I'm guessing you're not familiar with the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch. It was built as a miniature railway (15inch gauge, nowadays classed as 'narrow gauge' in UK law). Google any image of an RH&D train at Dungeness .... there are no shortage on the web. The trains come up to the average adult's chest. Mind you, I'm beginning to wish I hadn't noticed it. That photo is just ... odd
