I've never been to such a thing. Looks like a lot of fun. I can only dream of reasonably-priced electronics. Ebay is a now a scalper's paradise.

There used to be many indoor 'Radio Rallys' back in the early late 80's in the UK. Regularly went to one in Blackpool hosted at a big hotel on the sea front. Used to come back with lots of junk 😂

Ha, we still use almost this exact Weller soldering station at 6:28 in our shop. Though we're making switching cabinets for industrial use where for the longest time soldering your own things hasn't really been a thing anymore, so it's nowadays relegated to the odd one-off special adapter cable for internal use once or twice a year at maximum. I think even the spool of solder is the same we've used 20+ years ago already =) BUT: It's all still working just fine and passes every inspection!

Used to love carboot sales, we had one every week here in Bolton, always loved the vintage audio seperates from the late 70's early 80's especially stereo recievers that looked beefey, bought an akai aa1175 stereo reciever about 20 years ago , had no sound, speaker relay was at fault, repaired it and still working to this day, no re-capping or anything else, sounds very good full of depth and warm sounding with quite a lot of power for domestic, to me beats any modern domestic audio of today

had a good morning there - all your leaded solder had gone by about 9.30!

Lots of nice stuff, all of them antique radios warm my heart :). I used to go to electronics fleamarkets back in 2000s and that's where I bought dozens of tubes and related parts, my DJ mixer and my first scope.

Thanks for the look around Mike. Plenty of gravity in those hp boat anchors - a few 141T spectrum analysers and most of what looked like an 8410 network analyser.

I remember finding one of those BC-611 in a flea market, sadly it turned out to be mostly a pile of rust and aluminium oxyde powder, and I could not save it.

The AIM LCR meter at 3:38 came home with me along with about the other half of the test gear on sale. It was a great day and made some new friends. Lots of KZbin nerds you couldn’t have swung a cat etc. I had a very short chat with Mike asking about the switching arrangement used on his surge generator. I’m looking for a high voltage switch if anyone has anything suitable leave a note on my channel thanks.

Nice shot of my belly at the start Mike! What got me was the amount of Silent Key gear being sold off. None of us are getting any younger. Also did anyone else clock the chap on the mobility scooter that had obviously been tweaked. Apart from PhotonicInductions I've never seen one so rapid...

Didn't make it. Domestic politics rule this year. A few years ago I took away your teardown NEC projector (for free, thanks :o) ) and its top cover still serves as a base for when we put the portable barbeque on the table in the back garden.

So good to see a flea market (sort of) that isn't overrun by shady dudes selling cheaply made tshirts and jewlery. I hope you got to pick up a few interesting things to take apart on camera! (And I've also spotted a few things that would make an interesting Techmoan video as well I believe.)

At 12:20 I spotted "Tux" the battery seller who is often seen at various rallies. I forget his call sign, but I think he was an M3. He was a useful seller of batteries and associated tools, such as my LCD battery tester. He did a lot of SOTA I believe. BTW I used "space" to freeze frame in order to get a better look, and even when the camera was panning the frozen picture was of very high quality. I did spot the stall with the old computers, definitely a few Amigas, an Atari ST PCB and what looked like an old 8088 PC motherboard. Anyway saved me having to drive an hour or so to get there 🙂- many thanks.

Did anyone recognise you n say hello? It definitely looks very disabled friendly, as it's all my mobility scooter can handle because it's designed for hard surfaces (tarmack, concrete, etc). There's a carboot just opposite me a couple of times a month but as I'm a night owl, I always miss it ☹️ I really should make an effort to get an early night n start going, as I know there's going to be loads of stuff for peanuts. But you could say that about any carboot tbh 🤨
