Wow, that looks awesome on my HTC EVO 3D! Showed my grandpa on my phone and he kept trying to touch the fish an inch or 2 over the screen, haha. This is definitely one of the best 3D video's I've seen on KZbin so far.

When the frame switches at 3:39 to the eel there are bars on both sides of the screen. The video is still one of the best I've seen. Great job.

It seems like ou can reach right ito the screen, grab the fish as they glide by, or touch the rough texture of the sea coral! Absolutely amzing video!!! The depth is incredible!!!

definately the best 3D video i have seen on youtube. i am using the cross eye technique, and i was expecting the fish to swim out over the frame :) simply epic. you have gotten a like, subscription and a favourite from me :)

thanks - the BD3D version is even better since the video has been additionally stabilized so you get even smoother movements...

@Helton566 > at 3:39 to the eel there are bars on both sides of the screen. yes thats called floating window - you can see these bars almost during the whole video - it works only correct if you download the video and watch it on a screen where left and right side of the screen are black or you project it on a projection screen in a dark room

please use 3D glasses e.g red-cyan (best would be using a 3DTV) - select the different 3D mode by clicking on the 3D icon at the bottom of the video screen

Thanks for infos... I had no real problems with the pop ups ! If someone does not like them and want to have a perfect 3D window it is relatively easy to download the clip to flv format, then convert to AVI and open the result with stereoscopicPlayer to change the parallax.

@sweillerYT thanks for your comment the stereo base was 64mm - no additional wide angle lenses - the original lenses of these cameras have 29mm - in some scenes the diver was very close to the objects (less than 1 m) thats why they pop out of the screen - I could push the scene to the back but it was aligned for a 2m wide screen - in fact this video was done for a presentation on tha fair 'boot 2011' where these pop out effects are used to get a 'wow' from the viewers

Hi, I like very much ! Had the impression to be back there. I also saw my favorite little B&W fishes ! Music is nicely choosen... Technical question : what was the stereo base and average distance of first plane ? What was the fps ? BR Sylvain

@Helton566 really? which ones were out of synch?

Excellent depth at times for the most part, but the convergence is to fair apart, causing ghosting and eye strain, and it should have been done in half-color anaglyphic to kill the retinal rivalry color flaring of bright hues like red, yellow, bright blue, etc.
@DuoDive10 жыл бұрын
ghosting has nothing to do with convergence - its a problem of the display system and the method used to separate left and right view - you may get bad ghosting when using anaglyphs - the better the 3D viewing system the less ghosting is present > and it should have been done in half-color anaglyphic well this video was not uploaded in any anglyph method - it is above/below - the KZbin player converts it to angalyph or any other 3D method - anglyph is the worst method to use when playing YT 3D videos
@Phaota10 жыл бұрын
DuoDive Sorry, but the further the convergence is away from each other, the worse the eye strain and more ghosting you see. Don't believe me, just look at the hundreds of anaglyphic 3D imagery I have in my Flickr sets (www.flickr.com/photos/phaota2/sets/), both done by me and others. The viewing system does affect the image quality, but not the ghosting. The closer you have the convergence of the red/cyan coloring, the better. As for anaglyphic being the worst method of YT videos, I disagree. If the convergence is done as accurately as possible, and there are a lot of great examples here on YT, then they look really good. Not Blu-ray quality, but still great. "Oceandive 3D - Pinkau 3D Entertainment" video is an excellent example. It has minor ghosting, but the depth is exceptionally done.

Phaota > Sorry, but the further the convergence is away from each other, the worse the eye strain wrong! - you get eye strain only if far point deviation is larger than 6.5cm on the projected media (TV or projection) (so you need to diverge your eyes) - this movie was made for TVs - in none of the scenes you will get more than these 6.5cm far point deviation - even on a 60" TV! > and more ghosting you see. no - once again ghosting is a problem of the 3D output media and the glasses you are using - there is zero ghosting on DLP link projections or with passive 3DTVs > The viewing system does affect the image quality, but not the ghosting. of course it does! The viewing system - especially anaglyphs affects the ghosting - I have about 20 different anaglyph glasses here and ALL have different ghosting - even the used monitor type (e.g TN or IPS) for displaying the anglyphs has influence on the ghosting > If the convergence is done as accurately as possible ...then they look really good. when changing convergence you will also change window position and in most cases you will get a lot of window violations which need to be eliminated using floating windows (which are already present in this video where necessary)

DuoDive I'm not talking about polarized glasses viewing of a side-by-side movie, as would be the cause if your film was watched on TV with today's 3D setups. Anaglyphic convergence separation ~does~ cause eye strain if not done right. Over the years, I seen thousands of examples of this issue. Glasses do not cause the ghosting in anaglyph. If the red convergence line is more visible normal, then you see it as 'ghost' in an anaglyph image. Passive polarized 3D glasses do not have this issue. True, certain glasses are worse for ghosting in anaglyphs, especially paper ones. Best to use the hard plastic ProX style ones. Window violations are going to occur even if you change the position since objects on the site of the screen in an anaglyph are going to look odd. This isn't much of a problem with passive polarized 3D view.
@DuoDive10 жыл бұрын
Phaota > Glasses do not cause the ghosting in anaglyph. of course they do - I had a 24" LG monitor where when using AmercanPaperOptics anaglyph glasses the ghosting was ZERO (really no joke!) - with my new monitor (a AOC 27") I have little ghosting with the red filter, but no ghosting with the cyan filter (using same good anaglyph glasses) - when using one of these cheep anaglyph glasses the ghosting is way worser - so YES the glasses and monitor combinates DO cause ghosting depending on the ability to eliminate (filter) the colors - so your glasses need to fit to your monitor otherwise you will always have ghosting - but as written there ARE combinations of monitor/anaglyph glasses which work perfect. It seems you never had such a combination before since you always see ghosting. > Window violations are going to occur even if you change the position since objects on the site of the screen in an anaglyph are going to look odd. This isn't much of a problem with passive polarized 3D view. wrong - window violatons are visibible with ANY viewing system - to avoid window vialotion on left and right side (top and bottom are not a problem at all) then you would need to use floating windows.
