I have not seen my family in 6 years, it took 4 years to recover from the incident of losing my streak. My few surviving friends have been very supportive so in 2019 I started to let go of the incident, I got a new job, a new girlfriend, we had a kid, life was once again back to normal… then it happened. What I had been dreading my whole life, my girlfriend was playing with Isaac shortly after his 3rd birthday, I was on the sofa watching the rugby on tv when I looked to the right and saw a bird, not just any bird, But a green bird! As duo look through the window there was a moment of silence before I ran and grabbed Jane”get Isaac” I yelled “why? What’s happening?” She asked as I pulled up the floorboard, “I will explain on the aeroplane” I said as I got the gun from its secret compartment under the floorboards. “Daddy what’s happening?” Said Isaac with tears crawling down his cheeks “ what is that bird doing” “no time to explain, get your clothes and get to the car,” I look for the keys franticly while Jane was looking for her coat. Suddenly the glass smashed as duo tore through the window with an axe “stay away” i screamed as I threw a knife at its face, “ don’t go near” me the knife did nothing but help arm the thing. “Daddy what’s that? My son asked as we ran to the car, “ I will explain on the plane, now strap in” Jane started the car as I shot the beast, blood running down my fingers, tears down my face as I remembered my life with tana and our girls Tilly and ray who at this point were probably long dead. As we drove to the airfield we were contently looking back to see if it was following us but we couldn’t see through the dark and snow. When we got to the field I started up the little Cessna as duo was running towards us, I stopped when I heard Jane screaming in pain, I ran to see duo had chopped off her arm and tried taking Isaac but Jane was strong, we ran to the aircraft. We strapped in and turned towards the little concrete strip, duo was running so there was no time to do all the pre flight procedures. We took of but with duo running on the ground faster then us in the air, heart pounding I turned and said “ it’s after me, if I die it should stop” “b b b but daddy, I love you” cried Isaac “ I love you both so much, there are some parachutes under the seats,” “ I love you” said Jane as we did one last kiss before she and Isaac jumped out. I led the creature away before I turned towards it.” I won’t miss this streak you bastu-“ my plane crashed into the beast, killing me instantly, nobody knew whether the creature died in the impact or not, they couldn’t find its body, they thought nothing could survive it but it would seem that a creature with unlimited determination is off roaming the world somewhere…
