Never flaunt your money, because you will be attracting the wrong people. It is not your obligation to pay for everyone in your circle. You are better off buying a homeless person lunch/dinner. You are better off buying a new wheelchair for someone in need rather than blowing that money on booze for the evening. People in your circle have jobs, they can buy their own drinks and pay for their own food. Never pick up your date in a nice car, fancy clothes and fancy outings, in fact rent an old car and if she goes out with you on more dates after that, then she's a keeper. I just hope that people learn the lesson before all of it is gone or that person walks out of your life because there is no more money.

Same as there's nothing wrong with men being attracted to femininas with large titties and good skin cause it's nature itself dictating that a feminina like that will be able to bear the child, not die in fuken labor and then be able to feed it in its infant years. Now the time where shit goes wrong is when ugly af fat bitches like half of california are so brainwashed by social networks into thinking they don't need to take care of themselves and are STILL entitled to date males with Lamborghinis, now that shit is plain wrong yeah.

You are ahead of the curve, young man. The old saying " money can't buy happiness" is right. BUT, what money can buy is freedom. If you can't be happy with freedom, it's not the moneys fault. The hardest thing about trading for me was I never felt like I accomplished anything. All I had was a bigger account, if things went well. When I was young, and built houses, I could see what I'd done that day, and 30 years later I can still drive by them. The best thing I ever did was set a number, as a goal, and quit when I got there. I still keep an eye on the markets, and have even been trading when they offer free money, like the last couple weeks. Trading is hard work and a lot of fun, but very lonely, and easy to burn out. Once you learn to walk away from a screen, life gets better. There is always another trade. Enjoyed listening to you talk !

I can totally relate to this. I have a friend who's family is loaded! I've been on 2 month long European vacations with him going to Morocco, Spain, Tunisia, Italy, Greece and Turkey. There are things that are great. To finally "live" with no concern about money. But there is a downside. Like you said, your problems are still there. For me it wasn't problems, but I felt "empty". My life ceased to have meaning. I was aimless. Just traveling and wandering around but I felt like I didn't have a purpose anymore. I think that was the most surprising thing for me from the experience. Everyone always wonders what it would like to be rich and they are sure it would be great. And that's true to a point. But people never think about the other side. I'm a trader. Last year was my first profitable year after 8 years. I do want to make all the money I can but it's not for houses, watches, clothes, cars or any other material things. They can't bring happiness. The money will enable me to be "Free" and have the resources to fulfill a purpose. To do something of meaning to me. To be able to truly "live"!

As a Christian, and learning to trade / invest, my purpose is not just to have my need's and my family' met (food, medicine, transportation, clothes, etc.), I want to be the hands and feet of Jesus, helping others fight poverty, lack of education, illness and loneliness. Being alone is a great form of suffering these days, and I'd like to tacle on this social issue with resources and the help of churches. I've have had a high paying job in the past and I'm aware that money does not necesarely humanizes you, it just unlocks rooms of your mind and soul that you didn't know where there before, and that poses challenges and hard questions. So, it is good always to work hard, think hard about what am I doing here? Do I have any purpose or cause I'd like to invest my life in? @Duomoinitiative5 жыл бұрын
I would say most experienced traders will lose trades more often than new traders. If you look at the win/loss profile, new traders are defined by many small wins and few huge losses, since they’ll close winning trades early and hold onto losing trades too long out of hope and loss aversion. One of the keys to becoming a good trader is being willing to take a (relatively smaller) loss and knowing when it’s time to hop out of the trade.

sounds like we have been through similar things. I left my career of ten years, went into full time emini's crude, gold , S&P and Dow. After two years I made the money, people stroked my ego all the time because i would arrogantly tell them how I much I made.... the reality was I had a major problem with an anxiety disorder and was popping antidepressants like M&M"s. Made the healthy decision to return back to work, its been 3 months and I am doing great. No more 14 hour sessions in front of the screens. Now just trading part time and understanding that in life you must have a balance otherwise you spiral out of control. Thank you for sharing

It was the other way around for me. I've had (still have) an online business and had almost no time left for my girl or friends. I started trading and invested every free minute into it, knowing it was a slippery slope concerning my relationship. But after the big money came in, I've got a new employee and devoted most of my "working-time" to trading and now I'm sitting here, trading 2-3h a day and doing all those things I really love in the rest of the day, it's great!

I do plenty of meaningful things to humans who love to hate me, cry their eyes out before, during and after I treat them some smile and laugh even, but I've had it. The solitude of trading solo is going to be perfect after all these years of this dentistry thing. Just perfectissimo 👌

I had the exactly same experience. To keep your self at the edge and track you need bigger goals than money. If your ultimate goal is money, you will get it eventually and loose the way. If you have bigger goals money will never be enough. Especially if you involve yourself in politics and changing the world. :)

I’ve had a similar experience of this hollow feeling. Actually you described it just the way I felt it. I’ve finally hit 6 figure trading account when I was 20 from trading cryptocurrency and just sat in my room feeling completely empty. It just shows that money is not the highest value in life as many people think. I recommend you research SPIRAL DYNAMICS. It’s a psychological model showing the evolution of human values. Once the person realizes that money, success and fame will never bring fulfillment, he tries finding it in a community of people, friendships, starts focusing more on the benefit of the world instead of just himself. And the values don’t end there. They evolve once we realize the constraints of our current values. Really interesting model. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

Im a new trader and coming from someone poor like me , i can tell you money will buy happyness for me ! Most important thing would be to buy my freedom ! Time is the most valuable asset you have in your life. Id be able to not worry about my bills. Anyway about my trades so far... i made 10$ with Macy lol and then made 100$ with swing trading a reit stock...slowly but surely ! Hoping to get 100k one day and finally be happy !
@gelebki4 жыл бұрын
Pokiblue I know what you mean, cause I’ve been poor myself. And I thought the EXACT same thing. But this dream that money will bring happiness is only an illusion. Once you earn the sum you want right now, you’ll be excited for a few days max and you’ll just want more. The hunger for money is never satisfied. Sure, it takes some worries away such as the bills. But deep down you’ll still be the same person, wether millionaire or broke. If you’re not satisfied with life right now, you still won’t be once you get the money. You’ll probably have to go through all of this yourself to truly get this but from my experience when I later lost most of my money I was paradoxically much happier. All we have is this present moment and we can choose to be happy and grateful with what we already have or focus on what we don’t have and chase it for years, only to find out that wasn’t the answer. Take care, wish you all the best!

The main thing for me would not be the amount of money being earned, but the complete financial independence that comes with it. It's the not being stuck in a dead end 9-5 job being drip fed and having the carrot constantly being waved and moved away from you.

Yes you're right. When I stop and think about it, I'm grateful that I get to live on my own terms. I work more than I would in a 9-5, but it's out of choice and I get to decide how I approach that. - Nicholas

I like this guy. I feel what he's talking about, even though I'm not as successful with money has he has been. I can get it. I know he's my kind of guy from weird stuff. "Oh, the screens gone off." I'm the kind of person who sits around for 20 minutes telling a friend a story, and then notices instantly that a screen turned off. I bet somewhere in there is the weird kind of attention and involvement with events that makes someone engage in something as weird as optimizing numbers on a screen in the first place. Most of my friends think I'm a little nuts for getting taken out of the moment by something like that.

The Duomo Initiative - Financial Education hey buddy, so I started trading last week, got a $11,000 relocation allowance from my job and poured it all in (8k). Bought this highly volatile Indian stock called IGC which was soaring so much for about $2k and I doubled my money by the third day, sold the stock only for me to get greedy or cocky or having a FOMO that I reinvested it all back in and it crashed that same day. I’m a bit young, work for Intel Corporation so I think it’s not a big deal losing that money but I can’t keep losing money like that and so I would really love if someone with your level of prowess could be my mentor

Thanks for the honesty! It may sound arrogant to some but the golden nugget is about how money is not a problem-solving tool. Most people would want your problems as they are not in your perspective, not putting themselves in your shoes to see things in your view. It sounds good to have a lot of money, solving short-term problems but it comes with a different set of problems too, short-term and long-term ones. I guess the few main points is to understand the meaning of 'having enough', not to have an obsession with money and to recognise people's intention. This is a very good video if you fully understand the deeper meaning but it might not resonate with most people as they are here with the intention of solving their problems with money. Nonetheless, it's good to hear from the other side of life and I deeply appreciate your honesty, Nicholas. Off I go to click the subsribe button! :)
