I see a lot of KZbin videos where builders will scorch or char that bottom 2-3 feet of wooden poles before setting them into the ground. This apparently helps preserve the wood better, preventing, reducing or delaying rot, etc. Some will also do this to flooring planks and wall boards. Its an option that might be worth considering. It certainly wouldn’t hurt giving it a try to see if it would help your buildings last longer. 🤷♀️

In such tropical regions due to humidity the termites/ boror will infect the wood if there exists any starch content.. almost even 4 floors high.. any structure built of wood must be treated by steam or cresot oil for disinfection.. or should be submerged in water for substantial amount of time till the starch is washed off. Basically the hard wood behaviour of tropics are different from soft wood in cold areas especially due to lack of frost and increase of wetness in soils..

First, I would like to say that I do appreciate the effort, time, patience, and passion that you have clearly put into your farm. I think you've built a beautiful home for yourself and your family, should they ever decide to join you full time - albeit, with some expanded living areas and accommodations for your wife and daughters. That being said, I don't think this can really be considered to be a "primitive" skills channel anymore, so much as it is now a "low tech" farming and homesteading channel - and that's perfectly fine, particularly following the injury that you had some time back. It was somewhat inevitable, even, as your farm grew, and especially as you took on more and more animals that needed attention and effort to maintain. It's just become clearer and clearer that you've started outsourcing for materials that you previously prepared yourself, from nails and bricks, to tools and cooking equipment.

Can't agree more, I think he's also using a chainsaw and cement bags for some time I love this channel but I'm pretty sure it's not Duong responding to comments. he must have a cameraman + film editor. Probably a whole industry behind the channel and potentially people to help building

Duck grease tastes so better than chicken's. If you only have dried or smoked duck, try rehidrating it on low heat with a pot of water on a bigger pot so the water and the duck don't touch each other, only the water vapor, and then, remove the pot of water, let the whole thing to steam off, and stir fry the duck on it's own grease on high heat. I happen to have fresh duck farm near to my place so I don't have to hydrate it, but it's worth a try.

It continually surprises me as to how out of touch many people are with video production techniques. If this were actually one person videoing all of these shots from multiple angles, and all of the b roll shots, it would take an enormous amounts of time and effort. Not to mention the audio, editing, subtitles, etc. This channel is obviously done by at least a semi-professional small production team. Yeah, maybe this guy does build some of the stuff you see, but there is no possible way that he’s coordinating all of those multi camera shots throughout all of his videos while he’s doing that work. He’d have to redo things over and over, while setting up cameras from different areas, then hoping he got the shot he wanted...then reviewing it, and doing it over and over until he gets what he wants. Nobody is going to do that. Basically, while there is maybe some truth to what you’re seeing here, this is about as “real” as any scripted reality tv show you might see. And to anyone who doubts me, just find any professional videographer, producer, boom operator, grip, or anyone who’s worked in the industry and ask their opinion. If this were one guy doing all of this, he’d be wearing a GoPro, and you’d see a bunch of long unsteady shots from his perspective...and possibly and second camera setup somewhere that he’s just hoping gets another angle. I never see any camera equipment. To all of you that leave comments to him, as if the actor is actually reading or responding (I highly doubt he speaks any English btw), you’re really fooling yourself. Again, I urge you to find a professional in the industry and ask their opinion.

Yeah like when he went to the market carrying heavy things. He didn't walk up the street, set up the camera, walk back and do it again.. over and over. I love his work but I too would like to see more honesty about the whole production effort.

How do the tiles stay with no support?
@johns60143 ай бұрын
Friction and weight. The slant isn't so severe, nor are the tiles so smooth that they're able to run over each other, so while they might shift over time or face risk in a severe enough windstorm, they're generally going to stay put for as long as he needs them to. At worst, he could put a nail in the bottom each sloping bar to hold the bottom row in place, but that likely wouldn't be needed here.

Ciao.
