Tony said that people didn't understand that what he was doing was just as difficult as the Lamb and other creative parts. Thank you Matt, serious.

Matt, you've gotta be the best replicator of Tony Banks' tones and feel I've heard on KZbin. Super insightful!

Love your comment here Matt. Thrilling to see some the world's greatest live music being brought back to life. All the best with the thesis project and I can't wait to watch the video.

Never realized how genius this song is; the contrary motion and stuff really gets me.

Hey Matt, really appreciate the content you put in your videos. Look forward to them and looking forward to what you put on this fall. Would love to buy the 2600 but my budget is more on the cherry audio VST or another version. Cheers I do own a version of the 2600 from Arturia I might play with and try and get some decent sound out of it

Hey Matt!! Thanks a bunch for this. I'm always appreciative. Those leads are sooo big and fat. You of all people deserve to have a Quadra in your rig but then again given what you're using, it's probably more stable. I sooo cannot wait for your multi-camera angle video for this song. Wishing you much luck and success on your master's degree.

If I did anything with VST plug-ins, I imagine I would want a Chroma plug-in more than a Quadra plug-in. Not only do I know that nobody’s come up with one yet, but I don’t know that Tony ever had that synthesizer in his arsenal.
@mattthomasoverdrive45146 ай бұрын
Cherry Audio just released their Chroma plugin! Looks interesting. I tend to buy a lot of plugins on sale and never end up installing, let alone using, some of them, so I’m holding off on getting it. cherryaudio.com/products/chroma

Hi Matt, I had a quick question about the 2600 in your experience. I just purchased the orange one on the Behringer sale, and I'm loving it! I've been messing around with the duophonic mode, and I've found that the switch between mono and duo doesn't do anything when I have the upper voice patched to a VCO and with the portamento turned on. Is this true in your experience? I was hoping that for Cinema Show going from mono to duo would be as easy as flicking a switch, but now it seems that if I want portamento then I have to plug in the upper voice at some point in the song. Is this what you do as well?

Congrats on the 2600. I got a Solina during the same sale! 😀 I think I get tripped up with the whole duophonic thing in this very video, and I don’t currently have my 2600 set up. Off the top of my head I cannot answer this question, but I’ll share an excellent video which confirmed what I was experiencing and it should answer your question: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqGumIR8gal0fsksi=as8I8dVK8VruPdr4

@@mattthomasoverdrive4514 Thanks, please share how you like the Solina since you own a real one! So I did see that video, and for how I have it set up, with upper voice patched to VCO2, portamento on with the slider not all the way at 0, the mono duo switch just changes how the key gates work. I was hoping that switching to mono would make the upper voice go away entirely, but it seems like I need to take out the patch cable to achieve that. Not the end of the world but it does make it harder mid song. Not the end of the world! But it's been a blast exploring this synth as I'm sure you know.

@@mattthomasoverdrive4514 Oh also, do you recall which calibration screw you adjusted to correct the pitch of the 3rd oscillator with the lag processor? I'm interested in doing the same thing but I cannot find any documentation about the calibration, and I don't want to start poking around if I don't know what I'm doing 😅😅
@mattthomasoverdrive45144 ай бұрын
@@sailingwhisper149 the new Solina is great! In spite of the (very expensive) restoration I had done on my original, that one sounds too dark, as if there’s a filter cutoff happening. A/B-ing them, the new one sounds as shimmering as it should, the original has a better sounding modulation. The new one is really worth getting.

I think you are the only person I have ever seen that has removed Tony Banks from the band. Excellent stuff Matt really. Consider Patreon for teaching is the best I can say. I rather doubt there is a law against teaching people notes played by people who have an interest! At least I hope so. Be well man.

So it does duophonic with two portamentoes?
@mattthomasoverdrive45142 ай бұрын
The lag processor trick adds a separate portamento. So you can still use the main portamento and this second smears one oscillator in an interesting way.

@@mattthomasoverdrive4514 you dont use aux sends on your mixer how come?
@mattthomasoverdrive45142 ай бұрын
It depends on how Tony Banks ran it. In previous tours we did he had a distinct delay for the ARP. On this tour I have the Echoplex in the aux send like he did.
